These guys ****ing suck. End of story. There is nothing enjoyable about watching this team play.
It can't get easy baskets through any offensive sets because Haith and his staff don't know how to design an offense. Consequently, the degree of difficulty for their scoring is exponentially higher, even though their perimeter players are highly skilled offensively. The defense constantly under-rotates, just like it's done from the moment Haith set foot in Columbia. As a result, teams always have open, set looks from the perimeter. Seven assists on 26 makes is pretty ****ing hard to do. There's no ball movement, no spacing, no team play whatsoever. It's just an awful, awful basketball team, even though it is relatively talented. For all those preaching patience, you're going to reap your just desserts. We've seen this script play out at Miami. It's going to go no differently here. Haith will never make the SS as coach. Anywhere.

And that's just offense. The communication problems this team displays on defense is emblematic of poor coaching, poor team cohesion, and a very low bball IQ.

Only bright side: We're one game closer to the end of the Haith era.
Dancing around full responsibility for his indiscretions at Miami served only to prolong our pain. |

Your boosters should offer the vault to Gregg Marshall before the Hogs get any ideas.

In a lot of ways, the 2012-13 season is looking more like a curse in disguise. Were this Haith's second year, there would probably be enough momentum to shitcan his ass after next season. As is, we probably have two more years of this, perhaps longer, because Alden expended almost all of his political capital in bringing him in.
The best hope for the basketball team may be the football team. If they do well enough to get Alden a little bit more pull w/ the board, then perhaps he can pull the trigger on Haith sooner rather than later. God knows the idiot deserves it.

I think Alden has enough pull to shitcan Haith. He has to avoid the yakkity sax search pt.2 that led us to Haith though.

Alden was himself near-shitcanned after Anderson's departure, and the initial reaction to the Haith hire had a lot of "insiders" tying Haiths success to Alden's future.

Pressey's playing pretty well for the Celtics the past couple weeks. Another sign that Haith ****ing sucks.

Did we replace Deaton yet? If the successor is a business-minded guy (and not a lifelong Mizzou "fan"), Mizzou basketball could be in trouble. The cash cow that is SEC football would really behoove the chancellor to hire an AD who puts football first, leaving Mizzou basketball an afterthought, as that sport is at Georgia, LSU, Auburn, etc.

Assuming, of course, that Alden is fired when Haith gets the axe. That could be wishful thinking, with Pinkel (a stroke of great luck for Alden, and the only reason he still holds his post) and a number of other successful "minor sports" (none of which, by the way, have actually won a national championship -- softball, volleyball, wrestling, etc).
