*****OFFICIAL 2010 NFL Draft Thread*****

Here we go, all things draft for the next at least 3 days.

I think it's about time I started one of these things, hopefully I'll bring some good luck to the draft so we don't **** this up.

After dealing with thug punk LJ for years, I know where Poli is coming from drafting team leaders with heart and drive. I just hope they have the skills to back it up, because we passed up a lot of good talent. I guess only time will tell. Poli obviously was concentrating on the O side of the ball (With the exception of Berry, but you don't pass that up) this year and will likely go after D guys in next draft. This team has a lot more holes to fill than one draft can take care of. I guess only time will tell if this technique is going to pay off.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

This statement is absurd. Hate Matt Cassel because he blows, but he had nothing to do with this draft. People want to bitch about not taking Clausen, and while it sucks, if Cassel sucks next year, we will be in position to take a QB who is far better than Clausen.

Charlie Weis has always had small slot guys in his systems basically at every NFL stop. Taking McCluster doesn't bother me nearly as much as some others.

The Chiefs picked up these guys because they need more athletes on offense. That has to do with the offense. Matt Cassel is just the one with the keys right now. I bet after this year that changes.

Next year might be the best offensive draft ever. We should be targeting that side of the ball again.

Pioli should have picked Bulaga at No. 5 for two reasons. The first reason is that it would have confirmed, in the early run, that this draft would be an abortion. Thanks for getting my hopes up, Pioli. The second reason is that Berry could have gone to a team that his talents would not be wasted. What is the point of having an Ed Reed, when your front seven is ****ing atrocious?

This draft has made me hate Cassel even more. I did not think that was possible. His presence kept actual promising QBs (Sanchez and Clausen) from becoming possibilities. His incompetence has forced us to ignore defense in a defensive-laden draft in order to make him look competent.

**** that. I hope Cassel's pancreas explodes after eating a bowl of Krusty-O's and is forced to retire. There should be a ****ing parade in Kansas City when that clown is no longer the face of my beloved football team.

Hopefully. There are no more excuses. Cassel has to perform at a high-level or he needs to GTFO.

You know I would be okay with the draft, if they had traded up to take Cam Thomas. However, they traded up to take the TE version of Croyle. That is what sent me over the edge.

Why stay put and take a superior TE when you can give up multiple picks to trade up to grab Brokaki?

they are

last years draft is a disaster, and because of it we 'had to' waste picks in consecutive years on non-core positions while passing on value at core positions....

Yeah, I didn't say I agree with what he is doing, I just think I know why he did it. That being said, I have a feeling we will be going after a QB Next year if Cassel flops again this year. The O should improve a lot this year, but the D is going to be ugly again if Poli stands pat on what we are fielding as of this date with no changes. Perhaps he will make some moves before the start of the season and try to make some trades, or pick some players off the scrap pile.

My god. You seem like a knowledgable poster, but this might be the worst statement I've ever read on here.

It's the "you need to have a line before you get a QB" blanket statement.

The draft isn't over. There are going to be guys available for late round picks via trades. Guys are going to get cut after the draft.

Eric Berry is on this roster and I'm ****ing thrilled about that. He hasn't played a snap yet, but already his talents are going to be wasted. There are some days where I think some of this fanbase are so out of touch with reality that they should all just form a cult in Texas.

Berry and Asoaassmuah. Pretty excited about these two picks.

McCluster just has to be nails. No excuses or bullshit. This is a player who needs to come in and provide substantial, immediate production to justify passing on other top talent at this point in the draft.

Much like many of us said after '09, Pioli has to prove he's right. Currently, I couldn't be more skeptical/pessimistic about round 2.

Prove me wrong. Shouldn't be tough, right?

So from what I can tell, the Chiefs are suffering from years of mismanagement? Forgive me if I'm wrong, because I am a noob.... But it seems like there isn't depth at ANY position. Bowe is a really good receiver, but its easy for a secondary to key on him because there aren't any other targets to throw to. Charles has a ton of potential (he showed that last year), but there is literally nobody to give him a breather. In a league that has trended toward 2 RB systems, that ain't good. And I don't think McCluster is the answer. The guy just isn't big enough to be an effective back in the NFL. Then there's the trenches... Yikes. I guess I just don't understand the McCluster and Arenas picks when guys like Kindle and Cody were still on the board. Anybody know why KC isn't trying to pad their depth on the defensive line?

Yes, it's called the peter principle.

See: Dayton Moore.
