Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

You're not done. You just think you're done. A couple of things - you should move that red dot forward a bit. Remember, it's not a scope. As weird as it sounds, you should keep both eyes open when shooting - takes some getting used to. I was taught and shown that by a lieutenant colonel in Air Force security who is a range instructor, BTW - not talking out my ass. Also, I assume the reticle is big enough that you should be able to put your BUIS back on and have a lower third co-witness (meaning the front sight is visible in the lower third of the viewable area of red dot), which is a good idea if the batteries die or it malfunctions. |

Saw too many people complaining about the Remington R1 1911. Been researching the Springfield A1 1911 today. It looks much better.

I love my magpul str stock. Adds a little bit more cheek wield then the ctr. I think it was around $70-80.

And this. I have a Magpul ACS. I went into RGuns determined to buy the Magpul UBR, and picked the cheaper ACS because it was lighter and more comfortable.

If you watch that shifting graphic in original thread post, you'll notice that all the red dots are mounted at the front of the upper rail over the magazine well. Red dot magnifiers, scopes and iron sights are mounted closer to the rear.
The idea of a red dot is quick target acquisition in combat. You keep both eyes open so that if another threat pops up, you'll see it. |
