It's my own fault. I kind of quit paying attention to it. And originally it was 120$. Then they gradually increased their cost. Last year, it reached 210$ and I called and said "I'm cancelling".
They then bumped the bill to back to 125$ for my entire content. And then it began going higher and higher. So now I'm at about 80$ per month. And I'm not going back. If I can find a cheaper option for Internet provider, I'll be reducing that next. |

60 beans for 150 GB(includes HBO GO)...I'd pay this anyway...20 beans a months for sling...until the Masters is done in April. Then I'll ditch that. I also do Amazon Prime(something that pays for itself)

I'm headed there too! Last time I was at my place in KC I didn't quite get my slingbox hooked up right with the tivoOTA so I'm not able to get that feed just yet. Home in december though, and then the cord gets cut for good. Even with internet in two places, netflix, amazon prime, and HBO, plus paying for mlb.tv, I will come out a big winner over Directv at close to 200 a month. I have no solution for AMC stuff yet, but I'll just have to learn to wait for it.

I have one problem that I don't want to make a new thread since it revolves around cutting the cord. I have an Insignia tv with an LG soundbar. I can to get the soundbar to work without the uverse receiver. What am I missing? I've dicked around with the cables and googled the problem but can't get it to work.
Any help would be appreciated. |

I have all the channels in HD and non HD. 1000 channels or something like that. 75 meg speed unlimited data. HBO/Showtime/Music channels/Sports packages. Enhanced DVR 500 hours of HD space. $190.00 a month for Brighthouse, basically Time Warner down here.
I'm switching to Verizon Fios on Monday for about the same price but I get jacked up to 150 meg speed.

As in, was your soundbar input coming directly from your TV before or through the uverse receiver? And what's it doing now? |

It was thru the uverse receiver. When I unhooked the receiver, i couldn't figure out where to input the sound bar.,

You should be able to either directly connect the soundbar to the panel jacks on the back of the PC, or to the TV if you're carry the broadcast signal to it by HDMI

Anyone use Kodi off the Amazon Fire?
Been running it off the firestick since May. Been having a lot of issues when it comes to input lag and buffering/video stuttering when playing shows. Been considering moving up to the FireTV, but would like to know if it'll help my problems before I drop 75 dollars on one on BF. |

I use Kodi on my Fire TV daily, along with 2 other HTPCs. When you say you have buffering, do you mean on addons like Genesis? Sportsdevil? Having a wired connection will certainly help, but if you are going wifi, there is not much of a bump in terms of streaming performance. Go buy a Nvidia Shield if you are staying on wifi. it is cheaper.
I have had success buying a 6 month sub to Real Debrid and it has made using Genesis much easier. Much less buffering using those premium streams. However, if the link is dead, it will not prevent that. it was like $17 and well worth it. sideload firestarter as it makes jumping to Kodi really easy. I gave up on TVMC because it was ass. They stopped updating it at 14.2 because the code was so ****ed. Go get SPMC or the real android version from kodi.org and install it with addon installer and you will be happy. As a cordcutter, it is blowing my mind how much high def live tv networks are out there on these addons. I was so pissed at DirecTV for never getting the Pac-12 networks, and yet I can get all 7 networks in 1080p on multiple websites.
