Randy Choate gives up another hit. Pete Kozma still absolutely !@#$ing blows. Tony Cruz may actually blow worse. It has been this way for 2 !@#$ing seasons now but I'm supposed to apologize for being tired of it because the starting staff gives up 2 runs/gm.

Reyes, Kaminsky, Gonzalez, Flaherty, Weaver.

They don't all have to work out.

It's just one play but it shows how much simple athleticism matters at 1b.

If you're a good athlete (Piscotty is) then you can be a credible defensive 1b.

He'll be fine at 1b. Not perfect, but good enough to let his bat decide his value. If he hits, he'll stay.

This just pisses me off. WTF? Kozma makes an error on an easy play. He totally blows another where the pitcher is running out of the baseline giving up. His AB's suck. Choate has given up so many hits, how does he keep getting run out there? How will a RH pitcher be worse? So what he's a LH hitter. He gives up hits in almost every appearance facing one batter. Then there is Cruz. We could have kept AJ at least. What has Cruz done to earn a spot on the team? Am I missing something here?

If we didn't have better choices, I could understand. But, thats just not the case.

Cue Hootie to tell me just be happy with my team.

Ed Easley is a better choice than Cruz now, just as Garcia is better than Kozma.

Funniest part was keeping Cruz in to hit in the bottom of the 8th with two outs then having Molina lead off the next inning as a PH.

Classic Matheny.

From a pure hypothetical standpoint, who would it take for you to make reyes available?

Say for instance, the dbacks called and said "we wanna move goldschmidt and we love reyes, let's make this work."

They could have Reyes, Piscotty, Kaminsky and Marco.

Goldschmidt is a 7 win player making 5 million a year through 2018 with another option year after that.

I'd gladly trade him for Todd Frazier, Manny Machado, Arenado, pretty much any elite cost-controlled corner IF or corner OF.

Not interest in sucking big time from 2017-2020 until we could rebuild again. If we had not won 2 WS in the last 10 years and won twice as many playoff games as anyone else maybe we were desperate. Even the Pirates are not that desperate.
