Texas vs TCU isn't a rivalry. Texas owns them. It's like 66-22 or something. College football is so cute nowadays. Trying to make these "rivalries" when all anyone really cares about on Saturdays is how much I'm going to give to my bookie and how well is this prospect performing for the draft.

You couldn't write a better story. Kentucky wins in the semi's last year with a prayer shot by Harrison with seconds remaining. Wisconsin fights back this year and returns the favor by defeating an undefeated team in a classic game. Sure the players will change year to year but the fanbases are now forever linked. In football; games are forced by conferences and in these times of "realignment" you get fantasy rivalries like Mizzou/Arkansas which mean nothing and didn't get around to playing their first game until 3 years into conference play. |

They went from 119th to 115th in Sagarin this year AND they had a 5 star RB visit their school. Twice. It's about to turn around. I can feel it. / Bambi |

So apparently there are all kinds of schools super pissed at the Power 5 (especially the Big 12) for making this move to deregulate the conference title game stipulation.
This essentially buries schools like Cincinnati, BYU, Boise St., UCF, etc etc who were hoping that the Big 12 would need to expand in order to have a conf championship game. Only time will tell if the Big 12 wants to expand but there seems to be no need at this point. Allowing the conference to showcase a championship game will only add additional revenue to the 10 member institutions and provide a clear candidate for the selection committee come December. Quite a move by the league. I personally favor the smaller schools having a chance to participate in the playoff scenarios but the NCAA has essentially destroyed that with this decision. |

Why would the Big twelve want a championship game? They've got the perfect system with a round robin and one true champion. Doesn't make much sense.

I'm sure all those recruits are concerned with the "value" of an athletic department so much more than they are with the state of the football program

They have the best football stadium in the world at their disposal. Might as well take advantage. Big 12 Tourney at Sprint Center, OKC, and Dallas. Football Championship at Jerry World, Arrowhead and perhaps the renovated Memorial Stadium. Nice and tight setup here in the Big 12. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoot...ium-renovation Last edited by Bambi; 04-08-2015 at 07:27 AM.. |
