YOUNG AMERICANS
The USMNT was by far the youngest team to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, garnering valuable experience going through the rigors of World Cup qualifying. Through 14 qualifiers, the USA Starting XI came in at an average of 23.82, almost two years younger than the next closest team, Ghana at 25.67. Together, the other 31 participating teams averaged a Starting XI age of 27.5 through qualifying, nearly four full years older than the U.S. Sources say this is one of the youngest, but most talented teams the U.S. has ever fielded. While they may not win the world cup this year, they may garner the experience needed to make a serious run on home soil in the year 2026 when the World Cup comes back to North America.

This is a huge achievement for US soccer. Our midfield dominated and we hit post and had way more scoring opportunities than I anticipated

US need to be going balls to the wall against Iran.

Frustrated that the US didn't push the attack in the final minutes against England knowing a draw and a loss amounted to the same consequences entering the final matchday.

This didn’t look like a David and Goliath matchup at all, thats the biggest surprise probably. It wasn’t the case of a brave but undermanned team hanging on with luck. US genuinely outplayed them and had the better chances. McKinnie was the best player on the field. Turner played well. I think they earned some respect today.

Yeah their media and fans, as proven in this thread, were never thinking tie. Scoreless no less. I do agree that the last 25 min England had half resigned themselves to the fact that they weren't outplaying the US and willing to settle in for the point.

Would have liked to have seen the US be more aggressive. Hard to blame them though. Human nature is going to set in and they know that getting a result here is a stepping stone for this countries soccer program. At the very least they don't need to worry about Wales pulling some miracle I guess.

I didn't talk trash. I ridiculed someone for being a mong. You played well and we played shit and I said it was disappointing. However, this result is clearly better for us whatever way you look at it and it's obvious that our negative manager set us up not to lose. I wish we'd played to win but we picked the conservative option. I accept it and move on.
