I guess that makes sense when you have 2.65 team ERA.

4 runs equal win.

2 runs equal loss.

Hey guys! Good news!

Dan got another ****ing chance to remind us that Pete Kozma is the emergency ****ing catcher!

Question: does Mike Matheny know that Kolten Wong actually played catcher even as a freshman at Hawaii? If he knew this, would it impact Pete's roster status? Because with as often as we're reminded of it, I feel like it's the first line on Kozma's resume at this point.

The Blue Jays just got Tulowitzki and LaTroy Hawkins for Jose Reyes and three minor leaguers.

Those ****ing minor leaguers better be the Jays' best three prospects, because that is goddamned theft.

Fairly surprising and agree the prospects better be good or the Rockies got fleeced a bit. Wonder if Jays' ate some of Reyes remaining deal as well.

The Blue Jays gave up two hard throwing 20 year olds and someone else. One guy, Hoffman, is coming off of TJ but was a top 10 overall pick even knowing that he needed TJ. The other, Miguel Castro, seems to have good velocity but control problems.

Doesn't sound terrible I guess but Tulo can be one of the best players in baseball but a big caveat of when healthy. A 5.3 WAR just last year in only 91 games played shows what he is capable of. Seemingly dropped off a bit this year but has rebounded from a bad May and been largely healthy. Also, as you'd expect, home/away splits are not good but that division also has some very pitching friendly parks from the CA teams.

And before the Koz, it was Descalso that we were constantly reminded about being the emergency catcher. How often does that 3rd catcher actually get used? I would say it's about as often as a position player being forced to pitch, so right up there with the odds of a perfect game. It's amazing that a team with a near .650 winning percentage has literally the 2 worst players in all of the major leagues on its bench.

Castro got a shot at closing this year and despite throwing insanely hard, simply can't miss bats. His fastball is razor straight. He looks like an 8th inning guy to me unless he can find a way to get some movement on that heat.

Blue Jays fans love Hoffman but still had him behind Norris for the most part when discussing their prospects. That said, it's hard to take them that seriously, they were refusing to part with Norris OR Hoffman for Cueto AND Chapman. Fans are idiots.

Reyes is owed another $50+ million over the next 2+ seasons. That's friggen insane. He has to carry a TON of negative equity in trade talks.

To my eyes Kaminsky, Tuiavaila and Piscotty for Tulowitzki and about $20 million destroys this deal. Now there are still reasons for the Cards not to make it given what it would do to their payroll structure going forward, but the Cards could have easily trumped this and with the state of their offense, they probably should have considered it.

Hell, maybe they did and decided to keep the payroll $$ clear. It's still a little disappointing.
