This site seems to predict chaos and 2 inches of ice but I hope it's wrong.

Roads impassable for days if not weeks. 1.50-2.00 power grids not only shut down but substations become damaged from the weight of ice accumulations building on transformers and pylons. Hard to imagine ice accumulating over 2inches. Once you get into these extreme values this is what you call a "catastrophic ice storm". Power grids can become damaged and take months to be fully repaired. So there is big time worries for central Oklahoma up to Ohio. We will be monitoring this potential and update when warranted. Anything can change, and if there is one forecast that I hope to god does not verify, this is the one.

Also this just went up at the weather channel. The guy explains what .5" of ice would do to the stadium. His line at the end is a bit telling as well, "I won't be surprised if they shake the scheduling up over this thing in the next day or so."

The weather channel is entertainment now. I would suggest you look elsewhere if you want actual weather.

The system as a whole is moving slower than originally predicted. So by the time most of the moisture makes it to the KC metro area, the temps will be above freezing bringing primarily rain.

But

He says there will still be slicks spots in the morning from isolated cells before the temps can get above freezing.

Just heard him on 810 ranting about crappy meteorologists overhyping this. Says we'll be fine. Chance of some icing Sunday morning but could be dry. Game time seems to be when rain picks up.

Thanks...I just caught a few seconds of fb live he said mostly dry till like Sunday at 3am? Expect some slick like you said. Hoping this is the case
