Oldest Piece of Clothing You Own.

This morning when I crawled out of bed, I pulled on a pair of shorts that were pretty ragged. I stopped and thought about how old these things were, and it occurred to me that I have had them since high school.

I'm coming up on 15 years from graduation, so that means they are 15 years old at minimum. But they are a brand name that indicates I likely wore them when I was still skateboarding, which I quit around the time I got a driver's license. So a more accurate guess is that they are around 17 years old. 17 freaking years these shorts have lasted. They're kind of a sweatshirt material, and I rarely wear them for more than between bed and dressed in the morning, or shower and bed at night. But over the years, these things have to have months worth of wear on them.

So what's the oldest piece of clothing you own?

Nope, a purse isn't clothing. It's an accessory. I have a raincoat from around 1950 or so.

I recently found some old concert tees in a closet, and they still fit. A night Ranger shirt form 1982, Motley Crue 1985 Shirt, Ratt 1982, and a WASP 1983 shirt. I wore the Crue shirt out Sat nite! Got some weird looks!! lol

As threatened, pictures of me in my uniform appear below.

Of course, I wasn't nearly as scary looking back then as I am now.

The one on the left is me on my first wedding day 21 years ago. The one on the right is a picture of me with one of my friends (I'm the one on the left with the cigarette).

I like the cig picture, isn't it fun how acceptance of that has changed. Were we discussing that movie "good night and good luck" the other day? Continuous chain smoking.

Eh. Crapped out again. I'm watching what I eat and getting more exercise, but that's pretty much only keeping me from gaining anything more. Hard to stay motivated, especially this time of year.
