myth or not?

Myth or not?

So, my wife and I have been “working” toward having kids, and trying all things under the sun, switching to boxers, eating better, exercise, vitamins, etc.

today I was eating oysters to get ready for some action tonight, we have some already, then went to eat dinner and now she's watching wife swap, so I thought I would check with the brightest people I know.

They weren't available, so I'm asking the planet instead.

Thus my question of the night, Oysters? Is it a myth or not, that it helps with your fertility in any way? How about your virility? What sayth you?

I read a lot, and spoke with my elders brothers who were all fathers.

I wasn't prepared for the massive change in my/our life. I'm not what I call an "instinctive parent." Thankfully, my wife is. I've learned, in time, to be a good Dad (I hope), but it took a lot of work. My son is a lot like my wife and is very understanding. My daughter, however, is just like me. She's only three, but she and I will have some battles ahead.

That probably isn't very helpful. I'm sorry about that. I'll probably write a book about it later.

I think changes are assumed. I've always thought a child was the death of ultimate freedom.

but you've got an amzing connection with the life-force you've created. you created life.

plus, a bond with the mother the can't be substituted for anything.

Honestly, it depends on who you are. I'm a very selfish person, most particularly with my time. I absolutely require to be by myself for at least a few hours per day. Getting over that was very difficult for me.

As a father, you will lose:

1) Time to yourself. But no where close to what the mother loses.
2) Money. They aren't (hopefully) extremely expensive, but it does add up.
3) Your wife will probably view your differently. You're the father of the child first. Your needs are secondary at best.

There are more, but that's a quick list.

I love being a father. I wouldn't change it for the world. My wife and my children are the best things that have ever happened to me. They've made me a better person. I was traveling this week and my wife called me after I'd already said goodnight to my kids. My wife said, "Your daughter wants to tell you something." My three year old girl then proceeded to sing the alphabet song to me. I did my best to keep it together and told my daughter how proud I was of her. She simply said, "I love you Daddy" and handed the phone to my wife.

Who, after hearing my sniffling, promptly said, "You are such a pussy."

Yep, I am.

Oh, one more thing: any fuckhead can "create life." That's easy. It's making that life happy, healthy and secure that's hard. And wonderful and enjoyable at the same time.

My father kept telling me "the axis of your world has shifted". Until about 2 years after the first one was born I didn't really get that.

See, clear up until the birth it doesn't affect you much. Sure, you get more sex in different positions, and that's a good thing.

Then the kid is born. You're so pumped you don't sleep for two days.

Then the kid gets home. He/she is so pumped you don't sleep for two months.

Then they start moving and getting into s**t. You don't sleep for fear they're tearing up your house.

About 2 years into being a father you achieve "I don't give a f**k" and get your first real night's sleep. You wake up the next day and figure out what your father meant.

At least that's how it worked for me.

Women that say "pussy" are worth marrying. I mean, if I was weighing out pros and cons of marrying a particular woman, and they fell pretty even, it would probably come down to the fact of whether or not she uses the word "pussy".
