FINS STILL SNIFFING AROUND GREEN

Gred Bedard of he Palm Beach Post reports that the Dolphins and the Chiefs are still working toward a trade that would send quarterback Trent Green to Miami. The only sticking point? Green's pay in 2007.

He's due to receive $7.2 million, $7.7 million, and $9.2 million in base salaries over the next three seasons. The Fins want to pay him far less than that. Per Bedard, the two sides are "in the same ballpark."

Under the deal, the Fins would send to Kansas City the second-round pick that Miami received from the Patriots as part of the Wes Welker trade. If the deal goes through, it'll be the third straight year in which a second-round pick was given up by the Dolphins for a quarterback.

The acquisition of Green could mean the end of the road for quarterback Daunte Culpepper in Miami, who was acquired from Minnesota last year for the Dolphins' second-round pick in the 2006 draft.

Too bad Green didn't have a little better #'s, but the offense was castrated at that point anyway, his value may have been boosted to a 4th or 5th rnder, oh well

Because Green will be 37 and coming off of a concussion that most of us would still be drooling from today. That's the only reason.

Not at all. That's really the only reason that would decrease his trade value, imho. Trent has everything you could ask for in a QB, except age. If he were 27 and coming off a concussion like what he had last year, I'd be willing to say that the starting job would still be his.
