I thought this question was as relevant as the one asking why would Mrs. Spitzer stand by her cheatin dog, er, man. Why do men sometimes think with their head down south and not the one up north????

It baffles me why someone with a really high profile would do something like this, because there's no way he wouldn't be recognized. He's therefore relying on the honor of the madame and the prostitute(s) to not reveal him.

Now, granted, they've got an incentive to keep the secret since they're getting paid a fortune, but even so, he had to take a big risk to do it.

Or did he? How did he find an upscale "company" like this where he could feel secure that he wasn't going to get exposed (no pun intended)? Maybe he found them on the Internet, but would any high-level politician in their right mind trust their career to a random Internet search? I don't think so.

But...what if the escort service was widely used by other high-level politicians, and there was a word-of-mouth referral between them? If you knew several other prominent people who were using it, wouldn't you conclude that it was safe? My guess is that those girls have engaged in the pursuit of happiness with a full quorum of Senators and Congressmen and such.

I thought about that but then I think she'd encourage him to get a girlfriend and not spend that kind of dough on illegal activities he's previously sent others to jail for.

The guy has three teenage daughters. I have a hard time believing his wife would encourage him to engage in unprotected sex with over paid hookers even if she hated sex.

You are judging something that you cannot know. You comment might be based on what you feel is your core belief but you never know what another person would do.

I just asked a question, what if? Why would she care about money? I would guess that they have the money for him to do whatever, if not there was always the state treasury that he might tap into.
