Only four of us went up to the game this week. Took the van of a friend of ours who was unable to go. Dad was driving, I was in the passenger seat, and two friends in the back. I was resting my eyes, when someone in the back yelled, "DEER!" I opened my eyes just in time to think, "Oh my god!" It was big. We're guessing it was an eight pointer. When we went back to get pictures, we noticed that the rack must have been ripped off its head. It managed to split the radiator.

Hit it between Clinton and Harrisonville. Had it towed to Clinton, and a friend of ours (owner of the van who couldn't go to the game) came and got us.

I'm glad you all came out of it ok.

Mild and Smoky Venison Jerky

This recipe is for 2 pounds of lean, sliced venison. There is no hot pepper seasoning added to this recipe, so it's nice and mild. The liquid smoke can be left out if you dry this one in the smoker.

1/4 cup of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon of Tender Quick®
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of liquid smoke

Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Combine the marinade and the venison, and refrigerate overnight. Drain the strips of venison well before dehydrating.

The thing had antlers when we hit it.

Although I can't remember for sure. It happened really fast. Everyone else said it did though.

Quick...get your ass back to that location and recover that carcass. Get it to a taxidermist asap and tell them you want that thing stuffed and filled like a punching bag, but tougher.

Then, every gameday, smack that sumbitch with a vehicle of your choosing.

This is exactly why I have no problem w/ Gonzo hunting deer. They're beautiful, (not to mention tasty), but damn they're stupid. Glad to hear that everyone is ok.
