Bannan was pretty much a starter for the Ravens, he can play all three DL positions in a 3/4.

He was an unrestricted free agent and I am pretty sure they would have liked to have him back. The Ravens are one of the final 8 teams though so in order for them to sign some free agents they have to let some people go.
