That said, I'd just as soon see him off the roster. He's old and slow, which is not a good combination for a starting WR in the NFL.
Dane, I agree that he's old and slow, but even with that, I thought he was a pretty productive player for us the last few games. Might still have a bit left in the tank, plus as I understand it, he's the ultimate professional as far as preparation goes. I think the current WR that has to worry is Frankie Hammond. To me, he offers much less than Avant.

Nonetheless, we definitely need to do more for our WR corps than simply add Maclin. Personally, I'd like to see us get Perriman at 18 as he really looks explosive (when/if he catches the ball). What's your take on him?

Dane, Dane, Dane, Let's not split hairs. Not measuring up can imply many things. The point still stands, that the Panthers found him expendable for what ever reason and we latched on to him because our roster is devoid of talent at the WR position.

Chiefs will pick during the commercial break. ESPN will show the pick on the crawl 30 minutes later. One hour later they will find a grainy black and white video of our pick playing in a high school game in Canada. None of the panel will have any info on him. Chiefs.

A couple of other corners he was not wild about were Tres Waynes and Kevin Johnson! He said that it looked to him like they could not/did not want to tackle RBs. Kiper challenged him that they were excellent cover guys, but Gruden said that if you can't/won't play the run, the NFL will make you pay. Interesting.
I don't like armstead either really I'm just trying to narrow it down to guys I think Dorsey will like

Just to get my thoughts before the draft: I expect bone-chilling disappointment.

Here's my narrowed down list of who I think the Chiefs will draft in round 1:

  • Phillip Dorsett - You can't teach world class speed that translates to the field.
  • Nelson Agholor - Electric when he has the ball in his hands.
  • Byron Jones - World class athleticism that could be moulded
  • Marcus Peters - Shut down corner with aggression (maybe too much)
  • Jake Fisher - Athletic tackle that could translate to either end
  • D.J. Humphries - Same as with Fisher
