Joe Buck?

Firstly: I don't watch enough baseball to really have an opinion one way or the other.

That being said, I know people on here can't stand Joe Buck. I've been reading the hate for a while and people complaining about him commentating the series.

I woke up to local sports radio, and those guys were ALSO bashing Joe Buck. Then every caller that called in was bashing Joe Buck and saying how the technical difficulty time was so wonderful because Joe Buck wasn't on the air.

So, my question: is this a pretty universal feeling outside of Cardinals land? Has Joe Buck jumped the shark? Will the network continue to give him major gigs if there's this much dislike of the guy's commentating?

I'll give you that, once Buck thinks he's found the story of the game, whether its something that highlights the Royals or the other team, he'll stubbornly hang on to it like a dog with his favorite chew toy.

Joe Panik made the best defensive play of the 2014 WS last year in game 7, by diving headlong for Hosmer's ground ball up the middle in the 3rd with nobody out.
Not only did he get to it, he flipped it with his glove to 2nd and Crawford, (after a review and the first reversal in WS a history) turned it into a double play. That play took the wind out of the sails as the Royals managed on one hit in the next 5 innings.

Joe Panik is a big game, big play stud.

Enough already with the constant handjob he is giving Murphy.

Also they kept talking about how great Harvey was and not giving Ed much credit. They basically had the same effin pitching line last night.

Oh how about this Duda cat. He's really warming up...it goes on an on. Eff Joe Buck.
With the technology out there it would be nice if they are broadcasting the game with two crews we could choose. The international broadcast was so much better with Matt V. Would be funny with Buck hate, Fox would get the message when millions choose Matt.

Oh and by the way less than one minute into the Broadcast Buck referenced Madbum definitely an obsession.

I think it's funny how common it's become. People just rip the guy to shreds. I think it's one of those things where the ball starts rolling down the hill and it becomes a mob.

I think he can get carried away on a single topic sometimes but I don't think he favors any team. His call of Cain's run in game 6 last series was great. He's shown plenty of excitement for Royals plays.

I also like that he has a sense of humor about the whole thing. I think that's what I do like about him. A lot of people wouldn't have fun with it but Buck does.

Yes. We all know this.

It's just not necessary for Joe to blather on about it.

People cry way too much about him. I'm surprised it's so over the top here. I expect it from the casual fan, but less from the crowd here.

I guess it's the old pussification of America thing.

Announcers in general are awful. The Cardinals local homer announcers make Rex look like a drafturbator.

Agreed. I think there's some genuine displeasure with him but a lot of it is people running with it and having some fun.

Same with Royals GDT pessimism.

I like Joe Buck on NFL broadcasts but can't stand him on baseball telecasts.

As someone else mentioned, it was a breath of fresh air to hear the international feed. I didn't hear any bias, whatsoever.

When the regular Fox broadcast returned, I hit the mute button for the rest of the game.

Without FS1 and not much desire to follow baseball closely outside of the Royals, I've not seen enough of Buck to either like him or dislike him.

But I still got a chuckle with this...

I just hate how he'll go John madden about Favre on a player. Example: bumgarner in the series last year sounded like he was begging for a mouth load of baby gravy.

I've found Harold Reynolds to be quite annoying this playoff run, esp. in the ALCS.

I'm not the biggest Buck fan at all but he's been tolerable IMO during our games.

Verducci's jokes and quips are just.... yeah...

This is what I didn't really know and was asking, I guess. I was curious if this is a national phenomenon and widespread or if it's just pockets of hate.
