Smith hasnt played well against good teams, he is a mediocre QB thats nothing new here...

and yes there should be hype around Carr, especially over Smith given the age difference and abilities. Big ****ing deal.

Well, I guess there are only three "good teams" in the NFL because the Chiefs are 14-3 in in their last 17 games.

Reid’s nine playoff teams in Philadelphia and his four teams in Kansas City have gone 32-22 before their bye week and 67-22-1 after.

If you isolate his time in Kansas City, Reid is 16-10 before the bye and 18-9 after. That’s a modest difference, but the collapse of 2013 is the outlier — done with a thin roster that wore down, and against an incredibly imbalanced schedule that served backup quarterbacks early and playoff teams late. Take that out, and he’s 7-10 before the bye and 16-4 after.

Put it all together: Reid’s Philadelphia playoff teams and his four Chiefs teams have won almost 60 percent of their games before a bye and 74 percent after. That’s the difference between a team that wins nine or 10 games in a season, and one that wins 11 or 12.

Reid is so damn hard to figure out.

His works his teams as hard as he can in training camp, but a great deal of his success is attributed to his teams improving at a higher rate than other teams as the season wears on.

Which is which?

Lame excuse. Alex was 19-22 on the same field and the defense was raped a week before on a wet , terrible field in Pitt.

Reid is is currently 7-0 against the AFC West and unless the Chiefs incur major injuries, it's hard to see the Raiders or Denver beating the Chiefs at Arrowhead in December.
So far the Chiefs have not been able to put together a complete game. I don't understand how they can come out of the tunnel so lifeless and unprepared each game. I am not convinced this is a playoff team. They have looked more like the unfocused team that played the Steelers more than looking good.

It does not seem his training camps are hard at all. The Chiefs have started horrible every year and have never looked good in preseason.

They played a pretty complete game in Oakland.

If that team shows up every week, we can beat anyone.

The Raiders game wasn't a "complete game"?

Your POV is very myopic. Look around the AFC. The Chiefs and Patriots are probably the best the conference has to offer.
