Cannita Tips

I am looking to go to Canada in the fall. I'm probably going to be bringing $30,000 USD or so with me so I'm a little worried about that. Going to play poker in the Toronto area and maybe Playground near Montreal. Driving across through Detroit/Windsor and then coming back to the USA in Niagra Falls/Buffalo area.

What tips do you have? I'm not planning to declare I have $30,000 in the car but tell them Im just sight seeing for a couple days or something.

How easy is it to exchange like 10k USD for CAD? What does that cost?

Forget the poker this trip and play golf at Glen Abbey. I used to do a trade show in Toronto annually and playing Glen Abbey is the highlight memory of all those trips. It's only about a half hour from downtown Toronto.

Glen Abbey is ok , I prefer Eagles nest just as outside of Toronto or if you want to make it a great golf trip head up to Muskoka which is rich folks cottage country , that place is loaded with top end resort courses . Bigwin Island ( Boat access only) , Taboo, Deerhurst , Grandview , Rocky crest , Muskoka bay . South Muskoka

I went to a casino in the Balkans too. Had a few poker tables but no games running. I read when they do get a game going it was 10/25€ but the rake in Euro games is through the roof.

I need to get back to playing poker, I never play outside of maybe some small tournaments on ACR or Wpt gold.

Great info, thanks! They had just had the Canadian open at Glen Abbey at the time, thus my interest in playing it. I think it was probably 2000, but not sure.

"Glen Abbey has hosted the Canadian Open 30 times, including every year from 1981 to 1996 and with returns in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018."

Yus I definitely plan on wearing some Chiefs gear. After talking to some other Torontoans I did not realize how many people from there like the Bills. I figured they would all be CFL fans but I was told the vast majority of Canadians that like football still follow the NFL over CFL.

I went to Toronto several years back, and I toured an interesting mansion. I think it was the biggest house in Canada, and maybe still is. The guy who built it was rich, of course, but lost all of his money, and that was in the days before all the legal stuff where rich people could get away with legal maneuvering to avoid losing money in bankruptcy. The guy ended up living an an apartment above the garage of his former chauffeur.
