YOUNG AMERICANS
The USMNT was by far the youngest team to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, garnering valuable experience going through the rigors of World Cup qualifying. Through 14 qualifiers, the USA Starting XI came in at an average of 23.82, almost two years younger than the next closest team, Ghana at 25.67. Together, the other 31 participating teams averaged a Starting XI age of 27.5 through qualifying, nearly four full years older than the U.S. Sources say this is one of the youngest, but most talented teams the U.S. has ever fielded. While they may not win the world cup this year, they may garner the experience needed to make a serious run on home soil in the year 2026 when the World Cup comes back to North America.

I can’t believe I’m typing this but the US midfield dominated England. That has never happened ever in our country’s history.

I hate the idea of haji wright at 9. Dude is slow. Sargent or ferierra would have been a much better solution. Also Reyna is our best playmaking midfielder (note I didn’t say best midfielder). All of these decisions are open to question.

BUT ****ING SHAQ MOORE FOR DEST?!?! dest played the best defensive game of his life. England tried to go down their left all game. No joy.

Part of that is due to Tyler Adam’s being so good. But Dest played well defensively and he is a great option going forward.

What does that mean? I hate GB. He’s awful. Awful. This is the best team we’ve ever had on paper. I’d rather we had Dave Saracham (spelling? Because I don’t give a ****) the berhalter.

We have the most talent we’ve ever had. GB is going to waste it.

If you follow international leagues….you’ve for promotion/relegation. Basically, if the Royals suck, they get sent to triple A. If Omaha wins it, they go to MLB.

It’s super fun to follow and watch.

Even 0-0 games can be exciting. England has some do the best strikers in the world and our midfielders were just better athletes. Our speed on the edge was more than England could handle, but their strong center backs made up for that.

It’s like a fun chess match, but with humans. I think you’d like it, PB, if you watched it.

Like most sports, the more you understand the more you feel tension. Especially when you have rooting interest. In football 2nd down is more interesting to an educated fan because you don't want 3rd and long. A play on the 40 is important because field goal range is approaching etc. When you have a rooting interest everything is more important. When 1 goal can be all it takes every chance is nerve-racking, even if the chance is low that a result comes of it. It's chess, it's more a book than a movie.

There is much more to this sport than shots on goal. Focusing on that is missing the bigger picture. If you don't like it whatever that's your choice. I certainly understand that it's not for everyone.

He is correct. Life is short. We should watch the sports we enjoy, not the ones that he approves for us. I approve of his advice, just not in the way he intended.

Moore was bad today. At least go with Yedlin if you are taking him out. I suppose it was to protect him from his yellow card? Did he have one? I'm not a fan of GB either. His favoring of guys like Moore and Morris is baffling.
