yes, it would be a mistake. Haley deserves a shot with a healthy squad he built. |

Wha....? You would evaluate a rookie by his performance in a shortened preseason, preseason game? I think at this point he should get a shot on the field. We have nothing to gain this year let's evaluate. |

It's about evaluating PALKO. He's the worst QB in the league, with a bullet. I couldn't get the game so I had to switch back and forth between Fox radio and ESPN radio - both crews were LAUGHING every time they updated the score and had to mention Palko. |

In preseason, with the third string and a vanilla offense. Are you telling me that without even seeing practice you know more than Haley and Zorn about who is better? Really? Get over yourself.

Sometimes as a coach you lose some perspective. You see Palko working hard as hell and maybe it influences you. You are getting paid a lot but people are human. In this case, I think the fans are just seeing it more clearly. |

One minor positive thing I will say about Haley is that he never points his finger at any of his players in public and always does his best to put a positive face on a sh*tty situation. He is also very protective of what happens behind closed doors. That's not easy as a HC and he deserves some credit for that, no matter how pissed I am at him for not using Stanzi. The players have to respect that at some level.

ya, it's not about Stanzi as much as it is about Palko. He's doesn't give anybody a chance to win, it's almost zero, the defense can't allow more than 7 points for a chance to win, that's not giving your team the best chance. I'd rather grab one of our d-lineman who once played QB in highschool then keep playing Palko, that would give us a better chance to win, seriously. And yes, I'm aware that we won a game with Palko, but that was all the defense and without a miracle play that has a 2% chance of working, we would have lost.

The risk is that you can ruin him forever. He could develop into a good QB, but if you throw him to the wolves it could set him back so much he can never recover. Is it worth that for a single game in a losing season?

It could be that he doesn't want to signal to the team that the season is over. Like that decision or not, the team did play the last 3 games (prior to today) like a team that was fighting very hard for their coach and QB. Now that the Chiefs are pretty much mathematically eliminated, I don't think there's any way in hell that Palko starts. I would hope not, at least. If he does, then I feel like there's something going on behind the scenes... namely that Haley is mailing it in because he's fed up with the front office. |

The NFL is showing more and more that you can start a young QB with the likes of Dalton ect. The way the Chiefs play offense, letting him run screens, draws, slants, and throwing down field twice isn't going to ruin him. |

I wouldn't worry about that. I don't think it's going to ruin him forever. Only mentally and if he's mentally beat up, he wasn't meant to be an NFL QB anyway. I do think that there's a lot to be said for... if he has some significant things to work out, then it's best to let him work out those kinks one at a time rather than have him overthink too many at one time on the field. You can't wait for him to be perfect, but it could just be that he's so raw right now that they don't feel comfortable putting him out on the field.
