Trade Deadline

With their now being that extra WC spot and everyone being bunched up, there's gonna be alot of executives deluding themselves into thinking they have a shot.

Even with that said, I've never understood why more teams don't sell. Take the Raiders for instance and Josh Jacobs. He's clearly going elsewhere this offseason, so they probably think they could get a 3rd round comp pick. If the Saints beat them this weekend, why wouldn't you try to move him?

The Saints should trade anything that's not bolted down at this point, but I digress.

I know teams don't like to shit on their fanbase and sell because of tickets and blah blah blah.

Why dont' more teams sell though?

But really, since about 2016, he's been one of the better pure throwers of the football in the game.
Yeah, agreed, though it took me awhile to come to this conclusion about Cousins.

Cousins for like 3 or 4 years was the best QB in the league through the first half of the season, statistically anyway. His numbers through the first 6-8 weeks of the season were your basic elite. But then the wheels would come off in November, almost like clockwork.

But he's good enough to get to the SB, if he has all the other elements; a top-10 or so rushing attack, a top-10 or so defense, and a couple top-15 receivers. All of that is just easier to find than a top-5 QB.

I'd say that in terms of actual on-field performance/results, there's not a lot of difference between Cousins and Jimmy, but Cousins is the better passer in most situations (not off-script), but the results are pretty close.

Bears trade Roquan smith for a 2nd and 5th.

Did they gave away the Ravens 2nd or their own?

Either way, if you are serious about fields, transferring defense talent to offense is the best way to help his growth. I like the move.

I agree. I think it makes a lot of sense for the Bears. Fields appears to actually be progressing most in that QB class and he likely had the worst set of weapons to work with.

I don't think it's that weird. Way too high of a pick but Chicago is in a different spot. They have an outside chance of competing in a weak conference and they need actual weapons for fields to grow. This accomplishes both without spending a lot of money. It doesn't make them a super bowl contender but it's good for fields and it gives them a decent shot at at least making a late season run to be a bubble playoff team.

Despite being a reach this move made way more sense than a lot of these trades. It certainly makes more sense than thinking a te is going to flip a veteran like Kirk cousins around.

**** no. We should stay WELL clear of guys like this who are about to make bank and then revert to their usual selves or otherwise just not be elite as they're paid to be.

Hughes makes so much sense.

I really wouldn't. To me that is a now or never type of move to get to the Super Bowl. I think this team is poised to make a great run without giving up on next year.

But he's a damn mess when things go sideways on him. He's Daniel Jones bad when he's under pressure.

Again - just a LOT like Bledsoe. If the team gets him time and the offense has a good plan, he's going to execute it at an extremely high level. Better than all but a very select few.

But if you pressure him, he doesn't have the mobility to create space/time for himself and despite playing for a really long time at this point, doesn't seem to have that innate feel for where to go if/when things break down. It's surprising - you'd think he'd have gotten that clock dialed in by now. I mean Joe Montana could barely move but he knew where everyone was at all times.

You'd think Cousins could have improved there with as many starts as he's had in the league.
Cousins hit his ceiling early in his career. I pretty much predicted this when he was drafted. He was the definition of "solid college QB".

They've played all year this year with not much from their first round picks. They likely won't get a whole lot next year from pick 30 or whatever anyway other than the financial aspect.

I can’t believe teams would even think to trade multiple firsts for any player that is not a for sure elite QB, pass rusher or LT and isn’t a brokedick

“**** them picks” is what the Rams look like now and soon the 49ers.

Meh. Chubb would be a nice player (when healthy), but I’d rather leave the Donks adrift with no picks. They’re two free wins every year as it stands
