That's a poor example. Siavii was drafted in 2004... Vermeil hung onto him for all of two years. That's not really that absurd, what were they supposed to do, cut him as a rookie before he ever played a game? Then before his 2nd year? That wouldn't have made much sense. I'm sure you could find a better example of that. DV had no problem cutting other first day DT busts like Freeman and Downing after a couple years... Siavii might not have been far behind. And really at the end of the day, any coach is probably going to hang onto his draft picks longer than someone else's, that's just human nature.

Funny, Herm does in 2 weeks what Dungy couldn't do in in 3 years (take great offensive talent and bring up the defense to win) and people want to compare him to Marty.

Hell, in my book the most amazing thing the man's done is make Huard look good. That just stupifies me...

And the argument works both ways. His stubborn loyalty also brought us Trent Green and Dante Hall.

He made Dante a WR, one of the best moves ever, he would've never stuck as a RB and getting Trent, well we haven't had to worry about a QB for the past few years, for once!

He, Solari, and Shea have done an outstanding job of maximizing Huard's strengths, and minimizing his weaknesses.

If you believe that the Chiefs are a playoff quality team, then Huard is a capable backup that can keep, and has kept, this team from falling into the depths.

But he's not a guy I would want to go into the playoffs with against an upper tier defense.

I didn't advocate dirty play in order to win. I said I like to see my team win. If Vermeil could've done that by crying, I would've applauded him. But he couldn't.

Good point, but I don't do that personally.

I've been very pleased with what Edwards has done and am absolutely starting to like him, but I've never been much of a "fan".

I just think he's a lot better than Vermeil ever was for THIS team.

So far he's a legit B/U.

Similar to Mike Tomcsczaxtct or whatever for the Steelers a few years back, or that Garret guy for the Cowboys in the 90's.

Don't expect him to win it, don't worry he'll lose it. And with our new offensive emphasis our line's ablity to run block will be the most pressing worry.
