Willie Parker on the Chiefs radar?

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/footb...-signing_N.htm

Chiefs coach Todd Haley 'excited' by signing of RB Thomas Jones

By Jim Corbett, USA TODAY
Kansas City Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli and head coach Todd Haley landed a desired complement for quarterback Matt Cassel and third-year running back Jamaal Charles with Tuesday's acquisition of former New York Jets power back and respected locker-room leader Thomas Jones.
The 31-year-old Jones rushed for 1,402 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2009 and adds firepower to 4-12 team that averaged just 18.1 points per game. Jones scored 27 touchdowns the past two seasons and is a between-the-tackles jack hammer who will move the chains and help keep Charles and the Chiefs defense fresh.

The Jets saved $5.8 million by paring Jones from their roster last week. ESPN reported the deal with the Chiefs is for two years and in the $5 million range.

THE HUDDLE: Catch up on all the NFL player movement

Haley made it known at the NFL scouting combine two weeks ago that he sought a complement for the 5-11, 199-pound Charles, who rushed for 1,120 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 40 passes for 297 additional yards with another touchdown.

"He's an impressive guy. We can't have enough guys like Thomas," Haley said. "It's one thing to be a leader and another to have the ability to back it up. Thomas does that and is excited to continue to show that.

"He had his best year last year. And I'm excited he wants to be here.

The older brother of Seattle Seahawks running back Julius Jones rushed for a career-high last season after producing 1,119 yards or better each of the past five seasons.

"He fits what we're looking for," Haley said. "He's a good player, loves the game and is an excellent preparation guy and a good teammate.

"He's been a part of other teams turning it in the right direction and he's excited to be a part of this."

The Chiefs may not be done adding to their backfield. They have a Thursday visit scheduled with Pittsburgh Steelers free-agent back Willie Parker.

"If we have a chance to add good football players, we're going to do it," Haley said. "This was a great example of a good fit, no different than what we've been able to do coaching staff wise. We need to because we only won four games last year and we've got to be better this year."

DV also left a team in decay; I think we were the oldest team that the time. So to say DV was doing a great job with the team is a little bit of a stretch. We were destined for a rebuild, just not the one we would of expected with Herm.

Long story short, it was both DV and Herm's fault for where we stand today.

Long story short, it was Lamar Hunt's fault for where the Chiefs stand today.

He hired and backed those bozos.

That's funny enough. But I should point out that those words are not taboo here. But when they are aimed directly at a fellow poster to feel powerful THAT's what most of us object to. We are all far from "goody two shoes," but this would be a much more fun place if it felt like friends were discussing and arguing things. Friendly needling, etc is fun, but jumping on EVERY thread or post somebody makes, with profane "you" statements, just because "you can't stand someone" is an act of covering up your own low self esteem and creates an unnecessary poisonous environment.
