***OFFICIAL Walterfootball.com Mock Draft Thread***

He updates his mock draft like once a week.....so I'll just post them when I see them.

http://www.walterfootball.com/draft2011.php

Quote:
#23 - Kansas City Chiefs: Jonathan Baldwin, WR, Pittsburgh

A list of players who have lined up across from Dwayne Bowe this season: Chris Chambers, Terrance Copper and Verran Tucker. Bleh.

Jonathan Baldwin has struggled this year amid quarterbacking issues, but he's still a physical freak at 6-5, 230.
Quote:
#54 - Kansas City Chiefs: Jabaal Sheard, DE/OLB, Pittsburgh

The Chiefs have only one reliable pass-rusher. Adding a solid complement across from Tamba Hali would take Kansas City's defense to the next level.
Quote:
#87 - Kansas City Chiefs: Christian Ballard, DE/DT, Iowa

The Chiefs could use some help up front; they've struggled against the run lately after a great start to the season in that department.

I'd really like to know why everyone thinks that Battle is decent?

He hasn't done anything.

I might be inclined to see what he has to offer, rather than drafting a RB when we have so many holes to fill.

But at the same time, if there's a vlaue pick at RB in the mid/late rounds, then the nothing that Battle has done would keep me from making that selection.

Time and again it is proven that LB and RB are the two positions you get the most value out of late in the draft.

#21 - Kansas City Chiefs: Justin Houston, DE/OLB, Georgia The Chiefs have only one reliable pass-rusher. Adding a solid complement across from Tamba Hali (who happens to be a free agent) would take Kansas City's defense to the next level.

Justin Houston has really opened up some eyes with 19.5 TFL and 11 sacks as a junior this season. He has soared into top-25 consideration.

#55 - Kansas City Chiefs: Jerrel Jernigan, WR, Troy A list of players who have lined up across from Dwayne Bowe this season: Chris Chambers, Terrance Copper and Verran Tucker. Bleh.

#86 - Kansas City Chiefs: Sione Fua, NT, Stanford The Chiefs need some help up front; they struggled against the run late in the year after a great start to the season in that department.

#117 - Kansas City Chiefs: Delone Carter, RB, Syracuse Thomas Jones, 33 in August, is owed $3 million in 2011. He wasn't very effective this past season, so the Chiefs could let him go. If that happens, Delone Carter would be a very cheap alternative.

I like the first three but a RB in the 4th when the Chiefs have so many other needs is a stretch for me. Remember two of the top rookie backs from this season were UFA's. (Ivory and Blount)

I don't know about Jernigan on this team. He's a goddamned midget. Do we really need another sub 5'9 190 pounder on on the outside?

Absolutely. Because our other diminutive offensive player is best as a RB, as told on CP.

I would not complain about a 4th round RB. Battle hasn't proven shit and Jones has nothing left in the tank. RB is a position of need that gets overlooked.

We need another running back to help keep the load off Charles. Also would help out our power attack which we sucked balls at. It wasn't all on the offensive line.

Yep. RB is one of our needs. Especially for a team that ran it more than anyone in the league.

IMO, Needs, in order are:

OLB
WR
C
NT
OT
RB
ILB
S

Updated for February 9th:

21. Kansas City Chiefs: Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor
Scott Pioli needs his Vince Wilfork. The Chiefs struggled against the run late in the year because they had nothing at the nose tackle position. Phil Taylor would remedy that issue.

Taylor was one of the players who made a ton of money at the Senior Bowl. He was really impressive all week. The one concern with Taylor is that he was dismissed from Penn State three years ago because of an assault charge. However, Taylor has stayed out of trouble and worked hard at Baylor ever since. He showed up to his new school at 385 pounds, but was down to 337 in Mobile. Taylor even said that he wants to drop another 10 pounds by the Combine.

55. Kansas City Chiefs: Brooks Reed, DE/OLB, Arizona
The Chiefs have only one reliable pass-rusher. Adding a solid complement across from Tamba Hali (who happens to be a free agent) would take Kansas City's defense to the next level.

Brooks Reed was a team captain at Arizona, so he'll definitely be on Scott Pioli's radar - especially after a solid Senior Bowl.

86. Kansas City Chiefs: Jerrel Jernigan, WR, Troy
A list of players who have lined up across from Dwayne Bowe this season: Chris Chambers, Terrance Copper and Verran Tucker. Bleh.

117. Kansas City Chiefs: Delone Carter, RB, Syracuse
Thomas Jones, 33 in August, is owed $3 million in 2011. He wasn't very effective this past season, so the Chiefs could let him go. If that happens, Delone Carter would be a very cheap alternative.

I think a snowball has a better chance in hell than Taylor becoming a Chief.

I like Brooks in the 2nd.

The rest?

No, it mostly was.
Jones isn't a guy that creates things. He's a normal, hard running back. He needs a hole. So would Battle, so would 99% of the guys in the league.

Charles can make something out of nothing, and does it all the time. It's uncanny.

I'm not saying Jones isn't nearing the end; I'm just saying that if we upgrade at C and perhaps G(Asamoah?) we'll see better between the tackles running.
