Chan Gailey

he may not be sexy, but give the guy some credit...

his team was prepared, creative without being stupid, and kind of fun to watch.
just like the old "thiggy" days.

He's the best Chicken Salad Chef Buffalo has had in some time.

Would it surprise you to learn that sucky horrible Gunther has coached a defense ranked in the top 15 more recently than Chan has coached a top 15 offense? I always like hearing stories about the good old days, though. Tell me more about Gailey's offensive prowess. BTW, how did that whole Y2K thing work out?

I'd be curious to see what he could do in a place with more stability than Buffalo.
I agree, he was treated poorly but seemed to handle it with class and got his revenge where it mattered the most.

Then he had to switch to the system Tyler Thigpen ran in college because it's literally the only thing Thigpen could handle. And it was wacky and fun, if you don't mind that it only won us a single game. Meanwhile, Gailey actually runs a pro offense now and Thigpen looks like shit. He was in the game for half the fourth quarter on Sunday and they didn't let him throw a single pass. They trust Brad Smith more than that skeleton ****er.

Gailey's offense in Buffalo last year was 28th in scoring. 28th! Yeah, he put something on they ass on Sunday. Good for him. But the way they coached and played, Herm Edwards and Dick Curl could have walked in here and had a team put up 30.

For ****'s sake. When Cassel gets sacked 8 times on Sunday, are there going to be people going "WHY DID THEY LET GUNTHER GO"?
And the Rock drops the hammer.

You're just being ignorant. You know full well that Gailey many, many times has been coaching in situations where he had next to no talent to work with and yet still manufactured decent offenses.

On the other hand, Gunther has been with teams where he he practically got to hand-pick his own players and yet still failed miserably.

You're making yourself look like a fool . Just stop it.

This franchise doesn't like guys who can put together decent offenses like Gailey or Saunders, but is okay with promoting people like Gunther and hiring people like Herm. Must be the water.

Where was all this longing for Gailey last season when we won the division and beat the Bills in the process??

Step back from the keyboard, and re-read my post.

I say nothing about longing for Gailey, or that I even thought he did a good job. Guess I should have cut out OTWPs part where he liked him.

I said he was treated poorly, and handled it with class. See the difference?

Do you think the offense would be further along today if Gailey was in his 3rd season in KC, or where the team is now going from Haley to Weis to Muir/Haley?

A weak ass schedule doesn't allow for the rose colored glasses to come off.

Agreed, no “longing” needed in admitting he got a raw deal.

You like Gailey. Great. Disagree with something other than the joke I made.

Was I wrong about Gailey's offense doing jack when he first came here? Was I wrong that his predictable, boring offense, with its many 3rd and 10s, got two quarterbacks hurt? Was I wrong that he only changed when he was forced to out of necessity? Was I wrong that the change he made was so useless long-term that he (and everyone else in a copycat league) doesn't even use it now? Was I wrong that his offense sucked in Buffalo last year?

I don't think I was wrong about any of those things. But if it makes you feel better, I'll stipulate that I'd rather have Gailey here than Gunther. I'd also rather have the clap than AIDS, but if I had the choice, I'd take neither.
