When you're right you're right. The 70's were a weird time for me. I'm talking "collecting my ex's pubes" weird.

I saw that movie at the drive-in when I was 9. If I could have grown an afro on the spot, I would have done it.

Which do I prefer to listen to more often for some random reason? Zep

Being an old fart, I had the chance to see them both multiple times. Saw Zep three times. The first two, they acted like they couldn't give a crap - the third time they blew my mind they were so good. Saw the Who twice. Both times were INCREDIBLE. I've been a bass player since I was 12 - the Ox was the reason I began playing. Yeah, there are a bunch of "technically proficient" players these days - but not back then.

To me - The Who wins hands down.

Zep 8 days a week, they may have pilfered a few songs but they also have more than enough of their own to make up for it... they were more bombastic, more well rounded and always had the much cooler mystique about them.

No, not all musicians steal their music. If they did, it wouldn't condone it. What a pitiful way to try and cover up the fact that one of your favorite bands were scumbags who couldn't find creativity without ripping off lower bands that they opened up for in the 60's (Spirit).

Oh yeah waterhead, and last thing. Pentatonic scales may dominate classic rock, but when a handful of Jimmy's solos resembled pentatonic scale warmups for a music store guitar class, I'm hardpressed to once again defend these hacks by saying "but everyone else does it!" To hear a guitarist like Hendrix or Darrell Abbott revolutionize the instrument with the style they brought, and then to hear Jimmy page hammer on and bend the 13th fret for 3 minutes makes me nauseous that people mention them all in the same sentence.
You don't know shit about music, Bumpkin.

They sure did! And ended up having to add some songwriter credits. They (I think Jimmy Page mostly) went a little farther than artistic license allowed.

I picked Zep by a hair, but if SEEING them is part of it, I'd go with The Who. I'm not a musician, but I know what looks and sounds good. And Pete Townsend was just fun to watch. And I don't know shit about drumming, and Bonham was great, but just seeing Moon beating the shit out of the drum kit while still actually playing a song is just cool.
