Is the song 'Old Town Road' country?

Having a debate in my house......Country or pop? Or hip hop??

What says Chiefsplanet?

Would you find that in the country music section in a record store....nope!

It's hip hop using a very weak country vibe as a hook. Some uniqueness there but still....hip hop.

I highly recommend this book....

https://www.amazon.com/Black-White-B.../dp/0823064719

Keep in mind the father of country music is Jimmie Rodgers, he was from Mississippi, so what were his influenses, yep, them old black blues.

If you look back over the history of music you find tons of white cats covering black music, what we don't find is black cats covering white music.

I don't know man, George Benson's cover of Leon Russell's Masquerade is top notch.

Or Tina Turner's cover of John Fogerty's Proud Mary is pretty bad ass.

Who REALLY Helped get Jazz on the map? Two Jewish guys.

Who developed the synth and basically handed it to Stevie Wonder, giving him the most unique sound to date? White guys.

Who played on Aretha Franklin and Sam Cooke's first albums? Muscle Shoals house musicians. White guys.

Who saved the blues? Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Who supports the blues? mainly white people...just like rap.

I see what you are doing here, and it's uncool.

Not most racist, that's PB, but Ubeja is top 5 for sure. He's also a rape apologist.
