I've got to say that acquiring Manning made me vary uneasy. I though it went away from the idea of building a good team over time. I underestimated the impact that a top flight, franchise QB brings to the table. We've got a short window, I know, but this is just some really exciting football to watch.

Definitely makes it easier to stomach a bad day. But it really sucks if your team loses by just a few points on top of it all!

Manning looked fine, but it was his O-line that really stood out to me. I was curious as to why the Bronco receivers appeared to be running free in the first quarter. I mean, there was one play where at least 3 Denver WRs had nobody within 10 7 yards of them. Fortunately, Manning threw to the one guy that was covered. But, it looked like a terribly-conceived scheme. On the replay, it was clear that Pittsburgh sent a significant blitz that didn't get anywhere near Manning. That seemed to be the theme for the night. The Steelers could get near him. If you're going to beat Denver, you have to hit Manning. If their O-Line is as good as they looked, that's not going to happen very often, IMO.

Even if he plays for one year, heck one game it's worth it to get Tebow out if there (from a Donk perspective anyways).

Someone is going to have to suck it up and play a bunch of short zone or tight man against the Broncos and see what happens. This soft stuff might not work. Teams used to play the Colts conservatively because of the fear Manning would throw a 50 yard rope to Harrison or Wayne over the defense. He's played several preseason games and 1 regular season game and we still don't know if he can do that.

He didn't dink-and-dunk with five yard passes under no pressure. You're wrong, and you're full of shit for downplaying what he did by lying about it.

I agree and is what I have been getting at. The Steelers got a little pressure early but let Peyton get comfortable from then on out after he started the no huddle.

We needed multiple upgrades. What I failed to account for was how much Manning was going improve the play of our offensive guys.

Broncos were not hitting on all cylinders that's for sure but hopefully the team will get better each weak. Manning looks good, the running game is decent and the defense has some good young talent.

He averaged over 9.5 yards per attempt.

Something Tegu's jerkoff material Cassel has only done maybe once or twice in his entire career.

Ryan Clark was on the sidelines, which kept Polomalu deeper than he would usually be. Makes sense to me to carve up the part of the field between the line of scrimmage and Troy. 30 yard passes were unnecessary and would have been unnecessarily dangerous.

Ah, well. You know what? I'm not even going to argue about it anymore. I watched the entire thing glued to my set. I know what I saw. It's obvious to me that most of the people on here know what they saw too. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the ride.

He also had a 71 yard TD that was pretty much a pass thrown to the line of scrimmage. People wouldn't let Cassel get away with getting credit for that. Not for a second. Otherwise he was 18/25 for 182 yards. Certainly solid though.
