SEC is really good. Like 98-0 against Alabama A&M. And that's just the last 3 years

Nobody is asking you to.

If you want to play a bunch of mediocre teams year in and year out, that's your prerogative. The Big 12 was awesome when OU, Tech, Texas, Nebraska, Kansas, OSU, and KSU were all good. Every game was huge. They were events not to be missed.

I don't get what watching TCU or West Virginia roll into town does to excite the Oklahoma fanbase given their current struggles.

I took a look at the Big 12's nonconference slate and somehow wound up at Magnolia Bakery.

I agree. But their 3 and 4 loss teams don't linger in the top 25 all year like SEC teams do.

Maybe it's because their 3 and 4 loss teams don't mop up teams from other conferences every bowl season.

An absolutely fair point. A 3 or 4 loss Georgia or LSU hanging in the rankings happens because voters are awarding those teams credit for things they did in the past.

That's certainly not unique to the SEC, though. Historical powers always get the benefit of the doubt.

I think overall the PAC-12 is my favorite football conference. Good talent, good teams, good coaches, and without the stink of SEC fans

FSU website sells national title shirts with wrong score
4:42 pm January 7, 2014, by Andy Johnston

Someone needed an editor, or a proofer, or someone who actually watched the BCS National Championship game. We all do at times.

Seminoles.com, the official website for the Florida State athletic department, was selling T-shirts on Tuesday that proclaimed Florida State as the national champion.

No problem, right?

Only the score was reversed (see photo).

The T-shirts had a big “34″ above Tigers and a big “31″ above Noles on the front.
We all know the final score was: Florida State 34, Auburn 31.

The website later corrected the problem and showed a shirt with the right score, which can be viewed here.

I could easily argue that an SEC rival winning the title hurts the other team just as much as it helps them. Sure it makes the conference as a whole look better. But on a team by team basis it can hurt an individual school. If Florida is eyeing some top recruits and they decide to go to Auburn or Alabama instead because they win the title, that directly hurts the individual team.

It doesn't do Florida a whole lot of good to lose out on some recruits to another SEC team because the other team recently won a title or big game. I don't think the coaches would find much comfort and say, "well it sucks we couldn't get the guy, but at least he will be on another SEC team so he can beat our brains in for the next three years."

Utah-Stanford was the best game nobody watched this past season. Larry Scott should try to snag the 6 pm FOX slot that the Big 12 unofficially has. They are out of sight and out of mind for most football fans east of the Rockies, and that's a shame.

Of course it doesn't help with the conference. It helps against the rest of the teams not in the SEC. The SEC has the biggest pie, and it keeps getting bigger. Poor in the SEC is middle class in the rest of the conferences.

Yep. That was point earlier. It's like teams say "Well we can't win it, but let's hope another team can represent us and win it." **** that. If OU can't win it I sure as hell don't want Texas or OSU taking the damn thing home. Now that kills you in recruits and limits YOUR shot to win it all.

It was probably mentioned somewhere in the thread but did anyone love the broadcast on ESPN News with the coaches breaking down the game? I thought it was pretty awesome.
