***Official 2014 Training Camp/Preseason Mega-thread***

Post all of the Training Camp/Pre-season updates, relevant tweets, and general thoughts in this mega-thread.

If something happens to be particularly newsworthy, feel free to start a thread and discuss it there. Don't be a dickbag and "Q" up their thread, unless some idiot posts something like 5 days late.

WHEN POSTING TWEETS - When posting Tweets, instead of just copying the text, you can actually embed the tweet by clicking "...More" (right next to the timestamp of the tweet)-> "Embed Tweet" -> Copy the embed code, then paste that into your CP post. It will make the thread look a lot cleaner and we won't have to keep clicking away from the website to see the content. Thanks in advance.

We don't know if he's that guy. Hell, at least Damon Huard showed he could do that in Miami before he came here. Daniel only had preseason games before coming here and now he's got ONE game on his resume in which zero expectations were placed on him.

Again, that's not terrible for a backup QB. We could certainly do far worse. But when we've got two much younger QBs with far higher potential on the roster and keeping Daniel means dropping one of them, that's when I'll take the two younger guys.
You don't ****ing get it man...

This is true but im reminded of the stupidity of John Dorsey letting Geoff Schwartz go.

@TerezPaylor: Donald Stephenson has an ankle injury. Dwayne Bowe was cramping.

This.

You are very logical when sober. (j/k)

It's a classic risk vs. reward situation. Daniel is lower risk to lose a game as a back-up vs. but lower long term reward for smith's replacement.

Pre-season games will tell. In the mean time, we will have long, drama filled threads about this already over talked subject.

What I am getting the most from these camp reports is:

1. Our OL is crap. We have no depth and we have at least 1 player on 1st team who has no business starting on Sundays.

2. Our secondary may be in even worse shape than we thought, they're getting burned by a bunch of scrubs. Either that or we hit the jackpot with Hammond, Harris, Wilson, Williams, etc.

Sure. If they beat out Chase, cool. I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with people saying we should keep them just because they're younger and because they have more potential. Yes if everything goes right one might be a decent QB. Chances of that happening? Extremely low. They're more likely to be Ricky Stanzi than even Chase Daniel. I'd rather just keep Daniel and keep the best one of the two. At least the. You have a guy that coaches seem to trust and you also have a project guy.

I'm just not caught up in a undrafted QBs "potential".

And I'm one of the few that thinks that a wild card isn't out of question so having that guy coaches trust behind Alex could be important during the season.
