Chiefs Peyton Manning to visit Denver TONIGHT to meet with Donks - Page 54

Peyton Manning will be in Denver tonight visiting with the Broncos, according to two NFL sources.

This is getting serious, folks.

Manning, arguably the most decorated free agent in NFL history, has the Broncos on his short list. The long-time Indianapolis Colts quarterback was released earlier this week amid concerns about his neck, a $26 million bonus payment and the team's opportunity to select highly prized quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

Manning, 36, has been cleared to throw by his neck specialist, Dr. Robert Watkins. One NFL source said Manning will also visit the Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins after visiting with the Broncos. A source said Manning would like to make a decision by Tuesday, the first day of free agency.

The Broncos' top brass of John Elway, coach John Fox and general manager Brian Xanders, are currently in Stillwater, Okla., watching the Oklahoma State Pro Day workout that features quarterback Brandon Weeden.

The Broncos have the No. 25 pick in the draft, plus the 25th selection in the second round. Weeden, who turns 29 in October, is considered the second-best passer to Luck in the draft and has been projected to go between the Broncos' top two picks.

Manning will turn 36 in two weeks.

12:06 AM Gary Miller is reporting on CBS4 that Manning will depart tomorrow without a deal, as he is intent on making his other scheduled visits, presumably with Arizona and Miami. According to Miller, if the Broncos are able to sign Manning, they will try to trade Tebow, most likely to Jacksonville. If they don't land Peyton, then Tebow is still the starter heading into camp, as Miller tells it.

Decker and Thomas have a lot of talent and have proven they can make plays, I like their potential a lot as they go into their 3rd seasons.

Gotta love the faith and confidence... but, TT is built to handle it. And, you can't blame them a whole lot for taking a look.

I dunno... considering the last round of issues they had with a similar QB situation and the fact that both QBs share the same agent (or agency)... I'm pretty confident that TT knew prior to all of this.
