Geno Smith fans roll call
NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):
The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314 WHY GENO SMITH? If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388 Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him. GIF #1:

GIF #3 (My favorite):

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE? Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story. Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist 1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick 2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out 3. [X] Hire new GM/coach OPTIONAL (but highly recommended): 4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno 5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert Last edited by RealSNR; 01-04-2013 at 12:32 PM.. |

If your ok with them taking geno at #1 you should be ok with them taking barkley or wilson at #1 too. Although i think 1 of the 3 will distinguish themselves as the leader before the draft. I just hope one does cause at this point i don't think any of them are worthy of the #1 pick |

It's true, guys like Mayock and Kiper have Geno rated around 25th best player in the 2013 draft. I'll admit that it's somewhat early still for such ratings, but that is all we have today. Pennington carried a similar grade in 2000 and went mid 1st round to the Jets. lf Geno were taken in a BPA type draft, he's a late round one pick.

with clarky running the show, I wonder if he'd be willing to trade the first pick to the Broncos. So, swap first round picks, and the Broncos take Manti with the first pick?

All the information out there and still morons like this keep beating the same drum. Too stupid look at facts and point to minutia to try and support an argument that they've lost before the finger hits the first key. I was talking to my uncle tonight and he was the same way. "The Chiefs draft Geno and they are going to be horrible for a decade." "Why?" "Did you see the bowl game? He was horrible. He only passed for 200 yards and lost. The other QB was twice as good." "Um, no he wasn't. Did you even watch the..." "They should draft Jones from OU or Colin Klein." "How ****ing drunk are you right now? Do you know what his career numbers look like? Do you know he led the NCAA's in passing TD's?" "They should have drafted Luck last year." "Okay. We're done with this." It's simply a bias for whatever reason versus having any actual factual knowledge about him. There are a couple of guys on this site that I know are against him because they are simply racist pieces of shit. You can tell by how they post. Then there are guys like the above petri dish reerun clone baby who refuses to look at any information other than what he has concocted in his little squirrel brain and keep saying the same thing over and over and over, even after 137 different people have pointed out the obvious to him. Then there are the guys who just simply like "their guy" and are busting Geno because he's the #1 QB in this class and when faced with questions and facts, end up resorting to insults because they can't come up with anything objective to support their side of the argument. |

I make my opinion by what i see. There are many things i like about geno and many things i don't like, the things i don't like are red flags. I and alot of the rest of the nation don't see him as the #1 QB in this draft, i see 3 QB's that have the potential to be though. None has stood up and taken that spot yet.
Geno has alot of good things going for him, His got good accuracy, he's smart with the ball when he throws it, he's got good size, and above average arm strength. my issues with him though are i'm not sure just how accurate he is as 80% of his throws are high percentage throws that his Allpro receivers take to the house. He generally has 1 read and won't come off that read unless the pocket breaks down. He needs to work on his footwork a little bit. Now all those i believe can be fixed. The issues that raise the red flags to me is the situational awareness and his "thug" mentality. I see alot of tape on geno and he doesn't feel pressure very well until it's right on him, now i'm not sure if he just is overconfident in his abilities but often times he waits till the pressure is actually to him. Good example is the texas game, he had a few strip sacks from okafor from his right side where he just either didn't feel the pressure or he just got cocky and waited to long. Similar to his first safety in the bowl game, where it seemed he was overconfident and felt he could just sidestep 2 free rushers. Mentality we come back to times he's stuggled, He's thrown multiple fits, throwing cups, cussing and whining. KState game was good evidence, now maturity may help with that once he gets to the pro's and gets a real coach in his face. But the texas game was a big no no. A heckling fan was able to stir him up enough he actually went out of his way multiple times to jaw with fans and talk shit, then throw a blood sign.. That pretty much took me off his bandwagon completely. Now if we do take him... Then i'm all in i'll root and cheer for him as a chief, does he have my vote? no, but i don't make the calls and i don't sit him down and talk to him. |

Perfect.
Then you'll have no problem leaving this thread and posting in CoMo's "let's draft a linebacker" thread or some other such dipshittery. The vast majority of us won't have to see your inane posts ineffectually trying to criticize Geno for ignorant minutia such as "he swatted a cup" or "I heard he flashed some Biggie Smalls/Tupac hand signal at a dildo in the stands once even though I have no idea what the **** that is or means or whatever but some dude on You Tube said so and that's why I don't like him." And you get to post whatever drivel comes to you somewhere else and don't have to get beaten like a baby Harp seal after every single one of your posts. We're all going to be happy. |

2) Again, there is ample footage of him working progressions. I think sometimes he depends too much on his pre-snap reads and sits on a receiver he knows will come open eventually sometimes. But that is NORMAL for a QB transitioning from college to the NFL. Hell, RGIII had some questions about his ability to work progressions. It is coachable, as is Geno. He improved each year under Dana Holgorson ffs. I also wonder how much this has to do with the system. 3) Geno Smith has faced as much pressure this year as Tyler Wilson. The difference is he has demonstrated an ability to evade pass rushers AND KEEP HIS EYES DOWNFIELD which is actually a trait I value tremendously. He feels the rush as well as anyone else who has come out for the draft in recent memory. And again, it's totally coachable. 4) Heaven forbid we draft a competitor. This "thug" mentality is nothing but racist bullshit. Hey at least he's not vandalizing cars or getting evicted. Oh wait, Bray can't have a thug attitude, he's white. |
