That, and the referee stopped play with us having the ball for their keeper's injury and then gave them the ball on a throw in. That's not even a judgement call, thats basic rules of the game. At least T&T gave us the ball back. And then the ref immediately ends play.

WTF.

that was a sweet goal. I don't know much about soccer, but it seems like we don't usually score from that far out. Most of our goals come on rebounds, or rare breakaways.

either way it was cool. And I do know we need 3 points!

What an awful game. Thank god we got three points there. But, no way we can play like that and expect to do much again.

Time to watch the rest of the hex.

I really do feel sorry for you guys. As long as we aren't the ones playing you in the playoff, I'll cheer for Argentina. I'm sick of CONCACAF. Let's get this hex over and start preparing for WC.

well, these games confirmed that Brazil and Paraguay are better than Argentina, and it shows in the standings.... 1-2 punch... but now we need to win out and hope Ecuador slips... If i have to face Costa Rica/Honduras or Mexico for the chance to get to the WC i will be pissed, we have the best players in the world, and various GREAT players, yet we cant play as a team...

Last time this happened in 94.. {1-0 (1-1)} vs australia 2-1 aggregate score that gave me a heart attack... guess who was called up to play in those games after he had retired... (Maradona)

You know, if you qualify that's all that matters. No one cares how it happens afterwards. It's rarely pretty, even for some of the great teams. The US looked like shit in these two games, but if we can pull this out and not finish 4th I'll be happy. At that point, time to start over and start booking the WC friendlies.

That's funny about Maradona. I did not know that. Going to be a rough post-game for him.

Half time in both of the other CONCACAF games, both at 0-0. So far, so good for the US.

Hah, fair enough. I just mean if you make it to South Africa, who cares. I'd rather qualify ugly then not qualify ugly. WC 2010 is a year away... Plenty of time to get shit figured out.
