Dickey's and Gates top the list for me. Dickey's meat isn't so bad but their sauce sucks bad. And I haven't eaten at Gates in more than 10 years. The last time I did, I had a brisket sandwich that was full of fat and was like chewing on leather. I've never been back.

granted, I've only eaten their sammiches....but man, they were bad. anymore finding good beef/brisket in this town that isn't like chewing a boot is becoming harder and harder.

dude, I took some friends there before a Chiefs game last year, and I was embarrassed. Meat was dry, burnt and so ****ing salty I couldn't eat it, and I don't complain about salt. Terrible!

I've eaten Famous Dave's twice, while traveling on the road. It was fine for chain BBQ. I live in Central Florida, and there is shit, shit, SHIT BBQ here. Even the local, mom and pop stuff. Greasy meat, dry brisket, way-too-sweet sauces ... I have yet to find a decent Q. I'll keep looking, but I've been disappointed so many times that I'm beginning to lose hope, and tired of spending the money when I should just stick to local-caught seafood. |
