***OFFICIAL Walterfootball.com Mock Draft Thread***

He updates his mock draft like once a week.....so I'll just post them when I see them.

http://www.walterfootball.com/draft2011.php

Quote:
#23 - Kansas City Chiefs: Jonathan Baldwin, WR, Pittsburgh

A list of players who have lined up across from Dwayne Bowe this season: Chris Chambers, Terrance Copper and Verran Tucker. Bleh.

Jonathan Baldwin has struggled this year amid quarterbacking issues, but he's still a physical freak at 6-5, 230.
Quote:
#54 - Kansas City Chiefs: Jabaal Sheard, DE/OLB, Pittsburgh

The Chiefs have only one reliable pass-rusher. Adding a solid complement across from Tamba Hali would take Kansas City's defense to the next level.
Quote:
#87 - Kansas City Chiefs: Christian Ballard, DE/DT, Iowa

The Chiefs could use some help up front; they've struggled against the run lately after a great start to the season in that department.

Scott Pioli needs his Vince Wilfork. The Chiefs struggled against the run late in the year because they had nothing at the nose tackle position. Phil Taylor would remedy that issue.

Taylor was one of the players who made a ton of money at the Senior Bowl. He was really impressive all week. The one concern with Taylor is that he was dismissed from Penn State three years ago because of an assault charge. However, Taylor has stayed out of trouble and worked hard at Baylor ever since. He showed up to his new school at 385 pounds, but was down to 337 in Mobile. Taylor even said that he wants to drop another 10 pounds by the Combine.

55. Kansas City Chiefs: Brooks Reed, DE/OLB, Arizona
The Chiefs have only one reliable pass-rusher. Adding a solid complement across from Tamba Hali (who happens to be a free agent) would take Kansas City's defense to the next level.

Brooks Reed was a team captain at Arizona, so he'll definitely be on Scott Pioli's radar - especially after a solid Senior Bowl.

86. Kansas City Chiefs: Jerrel Jernigan, WR, Troy
A list of players who have lined up across from Dwayne Bowe this season: Chris Chambers, Terrance Copper and Verran Tucker. Bleh.

117. Kansas City Chiefs: Delone Carter, RB, Syracuse
Thomas Jones, 33 in August, is owed $3 million in 2011. He wasn't very effective this past season, so the Chiefs could let him go. If that happens, Delone Carter would be a very cheap alternative.
He's updated with a 5th round now.

151. Kansas City Chiefs: Nathan Enderle, QB, Idaho

The Chiefs will owe Matt Cassel a ton of money in the near future if they decide to stick with him. They need to groom a young quarterback just in case Cassel's abysmal playoff performance wasn't a fluke.

I'm fine with that pick. Although I think Enderle is looking at UDFA right now, but if QB's are getting plucked off the board quicker than expected, with all of these teams needing a QB, I'll take it. He's in my top 3 of 3rd day QB's behind Dalton and Stanzi.

148. Kansas City Chiefs: Derek Newton, OT, Arkansas State
Kansas City acquired this selection from Tampa Bay for Alex Magee.

Barry Richardson is a great run-blocker, but can't keep anyone out of the backfield. Ryan O'Callaghan is always hurt.

I'd rather see this.

21. Justin Houston, OLB, Georgia
40. Trade up from #55 (Using #148) - Jonathan Baldwin, WR, Pitt
86. Joseph Barksdale, OT, LSU
117. Andy Dalton, QB, TCU
151. Kenrick Ellis, NT, Hampton

Not a Dalton fan at all. Chad Pennington can laugh at his lack of arm strength.

If you're going to get a project, Pat Devlin would be a better option.

If there's no new CBA they'll have to draft to cover the unsigned FA's on the Chiefs.
With the lack of FA signing's by the Chiefs I'm pretty sure we're headed for a lockout and their waiting to see what the new CBA brings. Here's my guess at this time;

1. NT Taylor, Baylor
2. OlB Reed, AZ
3. C Barnes, MO
4. OT Hall, Stan

Seriously? Dalton does NOT have a weak arm... not a strong arm but he's solid... combine that with the fact that he is a winner and he'll be fine...

I was one of the guys promoting Colt McCoy last year for similar reasons.. Dalton is an even better prospect.

Shit, I don't know why I got him mixed up with another QB. Early as hell posting (for me) fail there. I still wouldn't draft a ginger though.

The only thing I would change is the Delone Carter pick. Tim Barnes goes one pick before him.....so I'm going to say **** it and swap out Delone Carter for Tim Barnes. If not him....then I'd take Austin Pettis. That would give us Bowe, Little, Pettis and McCluster as our WRs.

If Liuget is in the 315lb range, I'd rather KC take him and try to make him the NT.

Taylor just didn't play like a mid 1st round pick in college.

I'd have no problem in trying that with Ian Williams either.

Updated March 2nd:

21. Kansas City Chiefs: Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor
Scott Pioli needs his Vince Wilfork. The Chiefs struggled against the run late in the year because they had nothing at the nose tackle position. Phil Taylor would remedy that issue.

After a strong showing at the Senior Bowl, Taylor continued to impress at the Combine. He lost some more weight (334) and despite his massive frame, he ran a 5.18. Taylor has completely turned his life around, and he's definitely looking like a first-round pick.

Other 2011 NFL Draft Possibilities:

1. Akeem Ayers, DE/OLB - If the Giants pass on Akeem Ayers, he could easily go to the Chiefs. Kansas City needs help across from Tamba Hali.

2. Gabe Carimi, OT - Gabe Carimi is the top player available who makes sense for the Chiefs. Branden Albert is not a franchise left tackle.

55. Kansas City Chiefs: Rodney Hudson, G/C, Florida State
ESPN's Bill Williamson reported that there's a 50-percent chance that Casey Wiegmann, 38 in July, will retire this offseason. The Chiefs need a successor and some insurance just in case Wiegmann hangs it up.

86. Kansas City Chiefs: Vincent Brown, WR, San Diego State
A list of players who have lined up across from Dwayne Bowe this season: Chris Chambers, Terrance Copper and Verran Tucker. Bleh.

117. Kansas City Chiefs: Delone Carter, RB, Syracuse
Thomas Jones, 33 in August, is owed $3 million in 2011. He wasn't very effective this past season, so the Chiefs could let him go. If that happens, Delone Carter would be a very cheap alternative.

132. Kansas City Chiefs: Thomas Keiser, DE/OLB, Stanford
Kansas City acquired this selection from Tampa Bay for Alex Magee.

The Chiefs have only one reliable pass-rusher. Adding a solid complement across from Tamba Hali would take Kansas City's defense to the next level.
