Have you ever been to the extreme southern Missouri? Things are...different...down there.

Put me in with the people who love KC but probably won't live there again. It's my home and where I grew up, but after spending time in bigger places you start to see there isn't a lot there. It is like any kind of long distance travel opening up your perspectives on the world. It's hard to get unless you have been away and lived other places. I also used to feel like I was loyal and wouldn't want to live anywhere else, and it's a generally good place for sure. S experience changes you.

They had two seasons: 9 months of hot, and 3 months of really ****ing hot. The weather was the same every day: mostly sunny, hot, humid, with an afternoon downpour. It got so ****ing boring I'd cheer when a cloud blocked out the sun. And Florida is so flat that Space Mountain is the third-tallest (not a joke). I used to go out of my way to find a road that curved. The drivers are batshit crazy because they're the bad drivers from Boston and New York who then moved south when they got senile. The bugs are so big you could saddle them. The infrastructure is pushed to the breaking point for electricity and water, there's nothing but ugly identical strip malls (and pawn shops and porno movie houses), go a half-mile in from the coast and there's nothing but poor black people and orange trees, go south and there's nothing but Cubans and rich assholes, there are wrinkled Canadians everywhere clogging up the restaurants and roads in the winter... The whole state is a rainforest swamp that will go under as soon as the water levels rise. It has a few decent points (Disney, Key West, Cape Canaveral, the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Pete) but frankly I'd rather live in any other state.
Florida...flat, yes, bad drivers, yes, ugly strip malls, yes, Canadians, yes. But I love the 6 months of awesome weather and AC, pools and beaches make up for the slightly hotter that Kansas summers. The average Temp in Sarasota is 88 degrees in August. What is KC's average in August? 98?

Not one mention of great sea food, almost great Amish food, Siesta Key, St, Armonds circle, Motes aquarium, Ringling Museum, spring training games....

Oh, and the whold "rainforest swamp" thing.....tends to create awesome wild life.

Just like everything in life.... pluses and minuses....

Yep. His post is full of hyperbole. Every place has drawbacks and negatives, but I love living in Florida.
