Stanzi may change his jersey number then.
Hope he doesn't. 13 is my favorite number. He could have taken 12, his college number.

Cassel bashers have had 3 years to vent out frustrations. It's come in the form of Cassel threads, Sanchez threads, McCluster threads, Pioli threads, Star Trek threads, and (of course) draft threads. And so much more, including stuff in DC

RedThat chose to keep his doubts suppressed for awhile. What you're seeing here is the releasing of that anger he's been keeping hidden deep down for a long time.

You'll be fine, RedThat. Try drinking a nice hot cup of Ricky Stanzi. It will take the edge off.

Its been awhile since we had a grown man come right out and say that he would love to take a "load" off a football player...

I guess GoChiefs was the last that I remember...

Make sure you take a towel with you...

FYI, its a joke, since you suck at sarcasm...

1. Your jokes suck. So do you. You should probably stop trying to be funny.

2. What you just posted isn't sarcasm. "Since you suck at sarcasm" has absolutely nothing to do with your bad joke.

3. If you wanted to make a gay joke, there are about 453,834 different ways you could have worded it better. Again, you suck at humor.

I have been very mum on him for a while.

I put faith in him from the start when we first got him. I was looking to see improvements from him as the years went on. I was excited when we hired Weis last year because I thought he would develop Cassel's game. I was still excited when we hired Zorn and had hope in Cassel. BUT, after watching him this preseason, I know its preseason but the guy still makes the same mistakes.

His field vision didn't improve.

His footwork and mechanics are off.

What else? His pocket presence is bad. He panics against the rush and lacks poise. He stares down his receivers and forces throws. His arm strength sucks. so does his accuracy.

All these things have just carried over from the past till now. And, no improvement. Im just convinced he is what he is.

And lets fact it, the guy is a project, okay. His whole career he has been a backup. At USC, in the NFL with Pats, but except for us. And I think, that is where he belongs as a backup. You just don't win with backup QBs. Unless, you have a GREAT GREAAT defense and a heck of a good running game.

you know what Cassel is good for?

Being on that kinda team. Greaat defense and running game. just keep it simple. Don't make mistakes. don't cause any turnovers or lose us games. Let the rest of the team win it for us.

I want a QB that can win us games. He is not that guy.

The season hasn't started, and here's an idiot posting that he hopes the team tanks.

I used to think this way when we had the great QB battle between Damon Huard and Tyler Thigpen. But now, we have a solid young team that is capable of winning each time they step onto the gridiron. The NFL media has hammered it into everyone's heads that you MUST have a Tom Brady or Peyton Manning to win a Super Bowl. Yeah those QBs are gonna win Super Bowls. But I don't think it's impossible to win with a QB that can, at the very least, manage a game by not making a lot of mistakes.

With a good running game and defense, you can still win in this league.

I don't believe that. It is very rare that you win a SB without an elite QB.

I want an elite QB. Not game managers.

We do have a lot of talent. At a lot of positions. But how shameful would it be to see it go to waste because all along we knew we didn't have the QB to take us to the top?

That is where Im getting at. Id just like to see us add to the puzzle and I feel that quarterback is the key ingredient were missing. If we have a losing season it may be worth it and increase our chances of landing that guy who can be an "elite" QB in this league.

and you know without any doubt that you can draft that Elite QB?

And if you draft that Elite QB and he fails? You have wasted the talent of this team just the same...

And what if that elite QB becomes good? It can go the other way too.

We screw up the season and get Luck he becomes a great quarterback and he takes this team to the promised land.

here is the way I see it, we go 9-7 this year. Okay, we make the playoffs, again, win the division and lose again in the first round. Last year happens all over again and Cassel ****s up. I guarantee you, people will rant and rave about how much he sucks and dream about having that elite QB. So what difference does it make if we go 9-7 lose in the first round(we went nowhere, no SB) or 5-11(same thing, went nowhere, no SB, BUT increase our chances of landing a top QB prospect). Id rather take the 5-11 and increase my chances of landing the top QB prospect IF it betters our chances of going to the bowl in the future, why not?

*you draft elite QBs in the first. most of the time anyway. The Tom Bradys are rare. I know everybody here HOPES Stanzi becomes that guy. But why not draft a QB in the first? If that guy becomes good, and Stanzi becomes good the qb position becomes even more solidified. Then what will people say?

You do realize that even if we somehow go 3-13......Cassel would still be our starting QB next year? Unless he completely shits the bed and throws 40 INTs and 2 TDs.....they're not cutting bait. They'll blame it on our pass protection and you would watch this team take a LT with the #1 pick.
