I was thinking it may be cool to exchange food feedback on foods you've tried, maybe newer products or classic foods...

include drinks, milk brand preferences, if you like.

Snack cakes are cool, if you like the Walmart bakery's cream horns, let's ****ing hear about it!

It can be junk food or healthy, both are open for any discussions or recommendations.

here are a few that easily come to mind w/o thinking about it too hard:

I live out in the sticks so have very limited choices. There is a Safeway, a Super 1 (Rosauers), a mom and pop Western Family store and a Super Walmart. For anything else, we have to drive 80 miles to Spokane. About once every 6 weeks or so, we make a run down there and hit Costco, Cash n Carry, WinCo and several Asian markets.
I don't know how long Safeway's have been in Omaha. Bugeater might know when they moved in the area. I pass one on the way to work and back, but didn't notice it until a year or so ago.

They are out of Germany. It's the Albrecht brothers that started using the private label idea throughout their stores. They started as ALbrecht DIscount, hence Aldi.

Trader Joe's uses the Aldi private label idea, but from what I've heard they are more "upscale" than Aldi. There are TJ's in KC now, but not near me, so I haven't been to one.

The Hyvee brand Hatch Chile pizza is fantastic when in season. Their salad bar is on point if you hit it before 11:30 a.m. CST.

There are several stores in KC area that will let you do the samething.

Since we have a Trader Joe's now I recommend their brand of steel-cut oats (which I used to buy mail order - cheaper than the Irish oats and unless they get drunk and start singing who can tell the difference?) I like their bread and their ready-made soup. I use their butternut squash soup with some added stuff (corn, chicken, peppers) and it's very good, very easy.

I generally only purchase fresh produce, fresh fish, and fresh baked bread.

As far as beverages.. have a Brita pitcher for water and I brew tea from loose leaf, generally Peet's.

Awesome.

I'll vouch for Trader Joe's pretzel buns and pub cheese. Both are good for a pretzel bun, pub cheese burger, or just a toasted pretzel bun with a pub cheese spread for a snack.
