How crazy of a game?
-Barry Richardson blocked -Our receivers (except a few early passes) didn't have a bunch of drops -Our secondary played like they were possessed. They deserve the game ball along with Hali and Orton. -We overcame absolutely stupid fucking penalties again. We just love to shoot ourselves in the foot at the worst possible time. -Our D front 3 played one of the best games as a group. -Thomas Jones played his beszt game of the year -Our offensive players blocked great all over the field -Pope wasn't a dope and caught critical passes (but almost blew it during the stretch for the goal line) We still need to find a way to score in the Red Zone-why no fade to Bowe out of 20 plays inside the 10? |

Here's where the Chiefs stand. They will get into the playoffs if:
1. the San Diego Chargers lose one more game, regardless of whether or not it's against the Denver Broncos. (8-8 with a possible 2-4 or 3-3 division record) 2. the Oakland Raiders lose today and the next two weeks. (8-8 with 3-3 division record) 3. the Denver Broncos lose today and the next two weeks. (8-8 with 3-3 division record) 4. they (the Chiefs) win the next two weeks. (8-8 with 4-2 division record) Stranger things have happened, but I believe only 2 of these scenarios will actually take place. As for today, the Raiders and Broncos could lose since Denver is playing New England, and Oakland is playing Detroit. |

I may be content to let today's game be the high point of the season. I am not sure I'd want to see KC get stomped in the first round of the playoffs again. Maybe I'd feel differently if it comes to be, but right now, not so much.

Refer to my last post before assuming the Chiefs are going to make the playoffs after today.

We did what no one thought was possible. We shut down the best offense in football and defeated the undefeated. We might have also shown other teams how to beat the Packers. Great win.

Considering that Green Bay were missing a few key starters today, and the fact that they've already won their division and are guaranteed a first round bye in the playoffs, I don't think the Chiefs' upset was a huge shocker. If the Packers were serious about trying to go 16-0 this year, they would have played harder and with more effort. Their performance today was almost the equivalent to the Chiefs' performance against the once winless Miami Dolphins earlier this season. They assumed it'd be an easy victory and instead got embarrassed.
