Life Kansas City's Best Burger. - Page 6

Recently, I've had quite a few debates about which Kansas City restaurant has the best hamburger. It's cut and dry for me, but it seems that there are a handful of different spots that typically get the nod.

I'm going to restrict the poll options to local spots, but I'm sure a few chains will be mentioned.

For me, it's Town Topic...with a bullet.

Your thoughts?

One of my favorite neighborhood hangouts close to home is the Englewood Cafe in Western Independence. They make a really good burger, and have great breakfasts.

Also totally bias but starting a few years ago the snack bar at Lunar Bowl in Blue Springs started making really kick ass fresh burgers. Much better than what you would expected from normal bowling alley snack fare.

Chubby's burger has crept up my list the last few years.
It's probably the biggest burger for the buck and very well prepared.

There used to be a teensy little restaurant on Kansas City's eastside called 2 Fish & 5 Loaves. They had a "Goliath" burger that had the circumference of some steering wheels (no exaggeration). Easily the biggest burger I'd ever seen with my own two eyes. They also had fabulous chicken wings. If not for having the wrong business people and two shitty locations behind it, that place might've become a real hit around town.

I liked Winstead's when I lived in KC! Shamefully, I never tried Town Topic or Westport Flea Market, though I heard about them many times!

Different restaurant. I knew of LC's the burger joint before I knew of the barbecue place.

I've never been to either.
Ironically, I've heard that LC's BBQ is one of the only Barbecue joints where you can get a hamburger.

I always thought WFM was overrated on their burger. I used to work near there and ate there often and at Jimmy's Jigger and the Jigger was much better.

I've indulged in just about every kind of BBQ you could imagine.
