Today Taco John treated me to lunch
I was just drivin' around in Olathe minding my business and I SAW SOME SHIT I TELL YOU WHAT




So I go in and I'm like YOOOOOOOOOO WHAT IS UP

They have a ****ing salsa bar?



YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TACO BELL GET YOUR POVERTY-ASS TEXMEX OUTTA MY FACE



So I ordered. And would you look at that. Would you just look at it?



I got some green sauce and some red sauce for my food.



I ate my TACO BRAVO first. It was good.





Then it was time for my Quesadilla. It had chicken in it.





YOOOOOOOOOOO. Are those GREEN PEPPERS IN MY SHIT? Solid.



I wrecked that ho. Taco John was my bitch.

ok now, there are fast food mexican places and then there are the authentic places. No way to compare the two. We have a pretty good one though called Taco Palenque and the food is just like that. I have a friend who grew up south of the border eating authentic stuff and he says it's the real deal and goes there at least once a week. The family that opened the place just moved up here a year ago. Little hole in the wall place and it's damn good food.

When I go to traditional american places like taco johns, I always get the chimichangas. There is something horribly delicious about crappy american cheese melted into a roll and fried that appeals to the glutton in me.

As a veteran of TJs coming from a hometown with 10+ locations. I will offer some assistance on your choices:

The Taco Bravo was a solid choice, a TJ staple, well done son.

The quesadilla was a meh selection.

The passing on the potato oles was a rookie move, it is what they are known for and you missed out, make sure to get the nacho cheese dipping sauce. Cause if you're at TJ's you might as well go for the full fatty treatment.

Best place for tacos in KC is Rico's Lupe Tacos on Southwest Boulevard. I lived in AZ for 3 years so I know authentic. This shit is as authentic of a street taco as you can find anywhere.
