He did the same thing with the Patriots in 2004 before he went to ND. He agreed to be their coach during the playoffs and stayed with New England.

It's not Pioli's fault. If the Gators were inquiring it's because they knew Weis was interested.

As I said earlier in this thread, the Weis's spent Thanksgiving in Austin with Muschamp and Mack Brown. I'm assuming at the time it was due to the son going to UT next year and working with the team, but I'm guessing they developed a relationship since then.

Weis is a pro and I have no issues with him staying.

I am sad to see him go but at least we do have some advance notice so we don't have to wait around to pick somebody else.

I would relieve Weis of his duties immediately upon confirmation that he has accepted the Florida job. It doesn't send a good message to the players or for the overall message of the organization.

If you don't want to be a coach or player for the KC Chiefs, then down the road you go ASAP.

Um, no.

It has nothing to do with the overall organization after this season is over. They'll find someone else and hopefully build on what he did here. Cassel's likely learned a lot about playing QB that will help him significantly.

Pioli could have said straight out said that Muschamp could talk to Weis after the Chiefs season is done. But if that did happen, Florida would be behind in recruiting. And as you mentioned before, that Weis did the samething with the Pats in 2004, don't you think that Pioli would have learned from that?
