Defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove needs to be fired. Getting lit up by USC is one thing, getting lit up by Ball State is inexcusable. Don't tell me NU isn't good enough to stop Ball State. I don't care that Ball State has a good quarterback. Cosgrove is also the linebackers coach; our linebackers suck and they were supposed to be the strength of the defense. Find a new defensive coordinator that attacks the offense.

If the defense doesn't improve under the new defensive coordinator, then fire Bill Callahan. I would've wanted Callahan fired after the season had NU lost today. I think his offense can work, but that's not the point. Thank God for Sam Keller today. The point is Callahan can't motivate the players. The team must have experienced the world's biggest hangover after the USC game. You have to move on, but they were not ready to play today.

I'd be surprised if Nebraska beats Mizzou. It'll probably be 41-24 Mizzou. NU has a lot of games that scare me right now.
What's your take on the KU game at Lawrence?

That's one of the games that scares me. NU will score more than they did in 2005, but KU could put up 40 again.

Replacing four starters on the defensive line is proving to be a huge problem, as it should be. NU is getting whipped in the trenches on both sides of the ball. What happened to the running game. Next year we lose a quarterback, our starting linebackers (no loss, really), a couple corners and possibly Marlon Lucky if he makes the wrong decision to go pro.

I'm only confident about three of Nebraska's remaining games: Iowa State in Lincoln, Kansas State in Lincoln and at Colorado. I'd like to be confident about the A&M game because they just laid an egg and I'll be at the game, but I'm not sure.

Yep, next year is going to be brutal. This was Callahan's year to make a statement, and it doesn't look like he's going to do it.

Ever since Callahan took over, Alanm has been telling us about all of these 5 star recruits you are scoring. Where are they?

I actually think we have a schedule advantage next year because of all the home games. I'm going to talk to my buddy about seeing Virgina Tech in Lincoln. We go to OU later in the season.
