The golden age of wrestling
Reading this article about George "the Animal" Steele brought back all those fond memories, Ricky Steamboat, Jesse Ventura, Dick the Bruiser, the Iron Sheik...etc.
"Wrestling is a make believe business, and the stars are never truly in control of their own success." ~ Jim Myers, a.k.a. George "the Animal" Steele I didn't know until now, George Steele's day job is a high school teacher. |

I seriously used to have nightmares about Bruiser Brody! And does anyone remember the masked tag team of Mr. Wrestling #1 and Mr. Wrestling #2? I loved them and I have no idea why!

DOINK THE CLOWN PRO WRESTLER DIES AT 55
BREAKING NEWS Ex-WWE star Doink the Clown -- a hugely popular wrestler in the '90s -- was found dead today in Texas. Doink, real name Matt Osborne, was known for pulling pranks on the other wrestlers ... all while decked out in full greasepaint and a green wig. Details about Doink's death are unclear at this point -- but his girlfriend reportedly found him dead in her home ... where he'd been staying lately. After leaving the WWE, he continued wrestling for ECW and independent leagues ... still sporting the clown costume. More recently, he's been attending wrestling conventions and doing autograph sessions with fans. Doink was 55.
