Good lord, you pay for quality, and you get ripped off by the chains- it's a known fact.
It's a fact that any chain restaurant has hugely inflated prices, dull service, and mediocre food quality. Someone mentioned Claim Jumper which is the perfect example of hugely inflated prices for something you can get at any Applebee's or TGIF's, etc... If you want quality food- you're going to have to pay for it, and in most cases- it is worth it. But, you can't sit here and name every franchised restaurant and say it's a rip-off 'cause if you don't know that already, then you're pretty naive. Hell, the biggest rip off of all has to be Starbuck's. $2.00 for coffee? $4.00 if you want a fuggen latte. Sushi isn't a rip off. It's not a rip off if you don't like something. Sushi is high priced for a reason- 'cause the best sushi comes from overseas and the best sushi restaurants pay out a ransom to have it shipped overnight. Some of these sushi chefs are being paid $100,000 and more a year because they are such high demand. There's a huge difference there. For instance mexican food has to be the biggest rip off of all. For instance, Chipolte. Good food for fast food, but the fact is- your $6.00 burrito maybe cost them no more than .50 to make. They have a total of a dozen ingredients in that whole store, so the profit market is astoundingly high. Why do you think there's so many mexican restaurants? The same thing goes for pizza. Domino's has a short list of ingredients and that 12.00 pizza you just bought didn't cost them a freakin' dollar to make. That's where we are getting ripped off the most. Plain, boring food, that costs more than it should.

I agree it is more of a rip-off now that they've raised their prices, but I'd rather pay $6 for some real chicken or steak, than $5 for grade-D beefish substance at a fast food place.

Definitely overpriced but fun. Also a rip off even with kids: Chuck E. Cheese and Steak and Steak as some have mentioned. Olive Garden is mediocre but I gotta admit they have one of the best Pasta e bundle of sticksioli soups and shrimp scampi siciliana brushetta. They'll even leave out the pasta for my allergy if they can. But it's definitely chain food and doesn't do real Italian justice.

In the panoply of chain italian restaurants, OG is one of the few to go beyond lettuce, to include red onion, artichoke hearts, black olives, tomatoes and pepperocini. Like I said, we don't have an OG nearby, and all the italian restaurants we have nearby, including a 'gourmet' non-chain restaurant, actually are lettuce and dressing only. They don't even have pepperocinis in the building [I've asked]. The 'gourmet/upscale' restuarant actually has a decent salad of heart of romaine, pancetta and site made dressing, but they don't have anything to add to it. Take it or leave it.
