I'm going to Vegas, baby!
OK, just got done booking a trip to Vegas in April. This will be my first time. Actually it will be my first real vacation ever. I have a few weeks to plan and I want to see as much stuff as possible.

Hit me with your recommendations. I want to know what places I need to visit, restaurants can't be missed, sights I should see. Trying to keep a budget so dropping big money on a bunch of shows isn't really my thing. I might gamble a little but I'm not big on gambling. I will be looking for photo spots though. I will be bringing my camera and taking a ton of pictures.

So what do you think, Planet? What do I need to see in VEGAS?

Me either, but to each his own.

Fremont street at night is a must in my book, especially if one has never been. It's fairly dead during the day, especially in the middle of the week.

I've been to Vegas many times but I usually don't go to any shows or things alot of ppl are talking about. I just play alot of poker in the day, and get shitfaced at night at Pure, Tao, and the Lavo. I would recommend all three. One good cheap place to eat that has probably already been covered is Bill's Gamlin Hall and Casino. I believe they have like a all you can eat prime rib lunch for like $12 or something.

I'm going out there May 2nd - May 8th and again for the WSOP in June. First four days I'm going to play poker, and the weekend is my buddies bachelor party. If you play at Harrah's in KC quite a bit you probably have enough points for them to comp you a room somewhere. Harrahs must own like half the strip. I was literally comped 4 days at Imperial Palace and I'm just paying for a discounted price Friday and Saturday. The Imperial Palace is dirt cheap but it's right where you want to be. I plan on playing enough poker to get the poker rate at the Venetian anyway so hopefully I don't have to stay at that shithole

No way, man. We are getting up at 4:00AM and driving to the Tillman bridge to photograph the sunrise. After that it's around Lake Mead and drive through Valley of Fire and see the White Domes trail/Slot Canyon/Arch Rock. Should make for some kick ass photography.

I'm still debating taking a heli tour of the strip. I'm hesitant dropping a couple hundred on something that lasts 10 minutes but it sounds like fun. Anyone here tried it?

Just take the elevator to the top of the stratosphere for $20. Same view.
