Peyton Manning to visit Denver TONIGHT to meet with Donks
Peyton Manning will be in Denver tonight visiting with the Broncos, according to two NFL sources.

This is getting serious, folks.

Manning, arguably the most decorated free agent in NFL history, has the Broncos on his short list. The long-time Indianapolis Colts quarterback was released earlier this week amid concerns about his neck, a $26 million bonus payment and the team's opportunity to select highly prized quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

Manning, 36, has been cleared to throw by his neck specialist, Dr. Robert Watkins. One NFL source said Manning will also visit the Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins after visiting with the Broncos. A source said Manning would like to make a decision by Tuesday, the first day of free agency.

The Broncos' top brass of John Elway, coach John Fox and general manager Brian Xanders, are currently in Stillwater, Okla., watching the Oklahoma State Pro Day workout that features quarterback Brandon Weeden.

The Broncos have the No. 25 pick in the draft, plus the 25th selection in the second round. Weeden, who turns 29 in October, is considered the second-best passer to Luck in the draft and has been projected to go between the Broncos' top two picks.

Manning will turn 36 in two weeks.

The way it sounds Peyton's not going to sign with anybody immediately after a visit.

If the Chiefs fit one in, then I think we can flush these ideas of Manning going to Denver down the toilet.

Also, how does Manning do in low-oxygen environments? That can't be good for his recovery from those surgeries.

He's a colt. He needs wide open prairies and fresh air, and he needs room to graze and play in a fenced-in acreage. And he needs to distance himself far away from rich honkies who just love heading to Aspen for the weekend. They aren't his people.

He's a Tennessee boy. He's an Indiana boy. He's a Missouri boy. He lives in the REAL America. He wants to talk about the American flag with Stanzi. He wants to live where the people are humble and passionate. He doesn't want to live in a location where the rest of the country doesn't respect his time zone. When he's watching American Idol with his wife, and he wants to know when 24 is, he wants to hear "8/7 central". Adding and subtracting one on his own isn't right.

C'mon Peyton. Screw Denver. This is where you belong. You belong home. This is where your heart is.
