Is there really a top 10 QB?

Let's be honest. This class sucks. If Christian Hackenturd is in the conversation for the first round, we may as well win.

With Dorsey's emphasis on his board and how he weighs BPA over need, it's likely that he'd pass on a QB that early in the draft. But in the latter part of the 1st, there will be a few guys that could justifiably go there and not run askance of Dorsey's 'decision lens'.
Yeah, because at 4 most likely the QBs will be gone, Mariota and Winston were not QBs that I thought would go 1 and 2 respectively in the draft. Every year is different because of talent at other positions as well as the QB position.

We just passed on a couple of QBs at 23 that look pretty good for Dee Ford, that was real good value right at the QB position.
Luck hasn't looked like he was/is worth tanking over.

Probably true.

If a QB really sets himself apart from the pack, he's going top 2 or 3 these days. I still don't know that I see a QB in this class that's capable of that, but if one does, the Chiefs would pretty much have to lose out to be in a position to draft him and that's pretty damn unlikely.

Frankly, I just think tanking puts such a pall over a franchise that it's generally a really really bad idea and intentionally bottoming out to get a shot at Paxton Lynch seems a bit over the top.

This is a scouts draft. I just don't see a no-brainer at the top of it. There's going to be a good QB or 2 out of this draft, but it's just as likely to be in the bottom of the first than the top, IMO. There's just not enough separating the top prospects from each other.

The Chiefs need to go QB, but they won't be bad enough to guarantee themselves the 'pick of the litter' nor is the class so clear-cut that tanking is worth the damage it does to an organization.

This thread is really something ridiculous lol...

Jared Goff was compared to Matt Ryan by 7 different NFL GMs except with better arm strength and mobility, yet he isn't worth of a top 10 pick?

Paxton lynch is a 6'7 QB with good arm strength, and many other qualites and looks like he can run a high 4.6 or low 4.7 40 and he isn't worthy of a top 10 pick?

Cook, and Hogan are both every bit the Prospect Bortles was coming out of UCF who was drafted in the top 3. All of the guys have good arm strength, prototypical size, and all guys come from a pro style offense.

Wentz is a 6'6, 230lb Quarterback who has a rocket launcher, and looks like he can run a 4.6.

If you're not swinging the bat on one of these guys in the first two rounds and you need a Franchise QB then you deserve to suck.

I agree tanking is a bad idea. It affects the mental part of the game for 50 players. Some it doesn't affect some it does. If you tank out then the players are going to lose faith or they would have to told of the plan. I don't think most players are going to appreciate that plan as much as some fans. So the team would have to tank without it being known. That IMO would lead to the players loosing faith and trust in the HC. I don't think you can fire the HC that secretively just tanked the season.

And oh my shit; If you think you're meeting resistance at CP, I cordially invite you to surf the filth of the homer sites and FB.

Aside from the fine folks at Westboro Baptist Church, a more ill-informed and moronic set of individuals you will be hard-pressed to find.

I feel like you're wildly overstating the 'resistance' to drafting a QB in order to make an argument you wanted to make anyway.

I don't think I see anyone that's saying the Chiefs shouldn't draft a quarterback in the first round, let alone the first two. If there is, it can hardly be taken as the consensus opinion of this thread.

I was mainly referring to the thread title, and the poll. Almost half of the people that voted don't think there is a QB worth taking in the top 10 or worth "tanking" for. I didn't take the poll as actually mean the team throws games. I took it as the fan base hopes we don't go win too many games to draft outside of the top 10. Or simply is there a QB worth a top 10 pick.

Heck, if you tank a season, you're probably not going to have 4 players off that team on the roster when you're competitive again.
