Which four would make your Kansas City Chiefs Mt Rushmore?

Just something that had me wondering. We're not the most storied franchise in existence but we've got some big names. Who would you pick to grace your Chiefs Rushmore?

Four picks, obviously. You can choose players solely or include coaches and front office as well if you like.

I'll include a poll of some of the top choices. Feel free to comment with your top four and vote for the top individual pick. That should give us a good idea as to which four would be most likely if it were an actual thing put to a vote.

I'm with you here. Green is my favorite Chief of all time. Sans 2001, he was so efficient here. Wasn't afraid to make a risky throw or simply check down. Ran that offense to absolute perfection. Was a top 5 QB in the league for 4 straight years. Highly, highly underrated. I heard Smith's stats the other day and, over a 5 year span, he basically is (statistically) the best Chiefs QB ever. I think that if Trent Green were the QB of this team during that same period, we'd probably have at least one trip to the SB.

Regardless, I'll be objective and keep my answers to players:

Thomas, Gonzalez, Dawson, toss-up between Bell/Shields.

Honorable mention: Priest Holmes.

The Ravens / Chiefs playoff game.

doubt I'll ever attend in person again unless I get free tickets and parking.

Imagine the poor schlubs who drove to Indy to see the Andrew Luck Meltdown game, then got stuck there in a snowstorm. Talk about suck-o-rama.

Only been to one since...and in that game the Chiefs lost to a HOF QB...because our QB wasn't good enough....

Same shit, different year.

Eagerly awaiting a fresh experience.

We drove home that night with the blizzard chasing us, only to pull into KC with 2 feet of snow on the ground.

Why do you think I took a year long vacation from CP?

That damn near broke me. We had seats about 5 rows up at the 50. We were in a 'box seats' area so we had our own suite area we could go to that was similar to the club level at Arrowhead. We sat next to some cute Chiefs fans from California that just happened to be next to us. We had made plans to go to St. Elmos for steaks after the game and were just loving life.

Then...well you know. Fortunately I had my truck and there was a zero percent chance I was staying in Indy. I grew up in the midwest and have a big ol' pickup. It ain't ice - what the hell do I care? We went to Shula's for a steak and scotch (and more scotch). Stayed overnight and blasted through it the next morning. I didn't get stranded but I can't imagine I'll ever have a worse experience as a sports fan than sitting in the best seats I'll likely ever have and watching that meltdown in front of 65,000 Colts fans.

My buddy's dad who came with us hasn't watched a chiefs game since. I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment...

I would interpret this exercise as players only.

Need at least two from the Super Bowl team. That one is easy. Dawson and Bell.

After that, I'd only go with truly transcendent players of their time. The ones with longevity, busts in Canton, and guys who are top 5 mentions at their position from ANY football fan.

Tony Gonzalez is one of those players. After that, I don't know if Derrick Thomas quite has the all-time greatness cred. Is he Top 5 for LBs? Yes, he was so unique at what he did, but it would be tough to say.

If I'm feeling stingy, I'd go with Buck Buchanan over DT. If not, I'd put in DT over Buck.

Tough call.
